Only onward and upwards for the Eagles from Oval Avenue. Whilst Ronnie was good for many years and probably should have more premierships to show from his great work it was the correct time for him to move on. There wasn't much more he could have offered the current playing group and he was well renowned for having his favourites and persevering with them at all costs and that in turn caused a lot of angst amongst others in the playing group ultimately meaning that many talented footballers have chosen to move on from Oval Ave. Micky Godden seems to be the perfect fit for the job and going by his first interview on the club website he is set to bring in an exciting game plan with him combined with some good recruiting we could be around the mark for a possible premiership within the next few years.

According to Rucci in today's paper they have at least 1 year and that's it.

HMMM From a Centrals fan who doesn't watch every Eagles game an interesting statement ;) .
Ron was Great for the Eagles but he had run his race by 2008 .Should have won more than 1 flag but didn't.
The "God" era is about to start. From his interview he will bring a more AFL style of training and introducing a video look back for all players .Sounds very much like Mikan has had some influence on "GOD".
Should be a very interesting transition year in 2010.
I for one am very interested in watching the Eagles defensive action melded with the new and exciting style that is about to be brought to fortress woodville.

From what I can recall all Reserves/League players that played an a certain weekend (lets say rd 22 v Glenelg) would have recieved a video highlights of their game during the week under Ron.

one thing for certain next years list is being planned to be better than this years.......

i haven't met Mick Godden but the good wraps keep coming from reputable people.......

also sounds like the club has a number of quality players being considered.......

i think we an expect some changes to the list.....

an attacking, fast play on , take them on, gamestyle looks likely......

on that basis i think we will be a top 4 team or better next year........

I would hope its crap he seems to fit in rather well with us common folk.
You dont get much more common than me ;) :D The non drinking non smoking straight edge Salt water fly fishing Woodville West Torrens fanatic that I am!!
We should make sure he stays put .Why would he leave with new facilities coming for the players a new Coach a new game plan.
Perhaps 8 other clubs should be worried.

This is what I'm excited about with a new coach. Hoping for not all out attack, but a little bit more flair than what we often showed under the Fuller game plan.

Hopefully. We have had the discipline and toughness, other sides have had the flair over the last few years. Whilst everyone talks about the Port and Centrals eras and their toughness at the ball etc, the true reason for the success is their ability to combine this with the flair and run IMO. And it takes a lot of hard work to be able to do both.
