Where did you get those names from Big Phella, I would have thought a few names were missing (from Norwood, Panos and Stopp I reckon would have nominated and from the Dogs I would have thought O'Hara?)

I'm sorry Sturt, your quota of players with first names beginning with J and having 4 letters has been exceeded.

Someone just pointed out to me that there is likely a system in place that once you've nominated you remain nominated for a couple of years - Hence the names we've questioned may well fall into that category, and Phil's list might just contain new nominations?

There are a number of names missing because the nomination period hasn't closed as yet.

I quote from the SANFL site :

Please see the following South Australian based footballers who have nominated for the 2009 NAB AFL National Draft. This list will be added to weekly with updates of further nominations.

Nominations for the draft must be received by 2pm, Wednesday November 11th

Bugger - it looks like you have to be a registered player of a football club ... and here I was thinking I still had a chance.

Sansbury, like all former AFL players, is automatically registered for the draft for the next two seasons.

Coad although 26 years old would definately be worth a go.
I think he could make the transition to AFL without skipping a beat!
He is athletic extremely versatile and a great kick in front of the sticks! I would love to see the crows grab him as either a mature age rookie or as a late pick.
Last year Hawthorn decided they wanted to pick him up in the draft but he had not nominated!
For his sake I hope he does as I am sure there would be a couple of clubs considering grabbing him!

I also think he is certainly worth a spot on an AFL list and would have, of course, played plenty of AFL games this year with Hawthorn if he got his paperwork in on time. With Coad returning to full fitness for the Hawks next sesason, not sure if they will be looking at him again, but surely other clubs would have seen or heard of him and consider him for their list.
