Just got home the Brewery and found myself thinking about the fitting tribute by Rod Payze (think thats his name) given to the Gowans twins and Matty Slade for their contribution to SANFL footy over the last 10 years, even though the twins are going around again.
At the time i remember thinking there will be few opposition supporters that would hate hear it, but bad luck its all warranted in my book. Well done boys!
Sladey was great with his player introductions very very funny and the whole chimney experience is a great way to round up the long weekend. I love it :D

Great morning at the chimney unveiling. They had a plasma screen showing the final quarter of the game (instead of 5AA's radio 'coverage'). Mark Soderstrom has become the new host of the event, so there was less banter going on, and the ceremony was more polished. Matthew Slade looks set to become Australia's next comic genius with his poetry 'work' describing the players (Richie Cochrane = Mother Teresa?). Chad O'Sullivan didn't make it unfortunately, likewise Jonathan Giles (who has already left for Port Power's end of season trip to Thailand).

Looks like West End have averted the potential clash in colours that caused some controversy in 2007 by creating a small gap between our colours and the Sturt colours.

Also, apparantly West End are going to release another commemorative can to commemorate Centrals effort.

All up, another brilliant morning.

I'm certanly one that is not going to begrudge the twins getting the kudos they deserve. Anyone with half a brain can see that they are the heart and soul of you club and have had a major part in the success your club has had over the last 10 years.
In saying that, I'll be glad to see the back of them though ;)

Had a lot of fun at the ceremony yesterday.
It was great to see everyone having a good time (without any flares) being set off.
Nice to catch up with Sam again.
One thing I really enjoyed was sitting back and watching the players interact with the supporters.
Even after Sunday night and Monday, they were still happy to interact and politely respond to all requests.
Had a good chat with Switty - congrats on the new bubs mate.
And, I'll admit it, got all fanboy with the Gowans boys and got a pic with them.

The colours look great!

yeah its like having 4 captains out there...the leadership and real passion they provide is just exemplary. Hopefully they both play on next year..
