I completely agree. I don't think he should be played. Its too risky...

but havent played for a month, havent had a hard hit out, a risk no matter which way you look at it, esp as Cally has done his hammy 3 times this year

Yes, IF he is fit, but you wouldn't just put him in because of his history.
