National Anthem Singer for the Grand Final

Nominate who you think will be the B grade singer for this years Grand Final. (Keeping in mind that the SANFL "can't afford Guy Sebastian")

It always amazes me that our national anthem is not played before EVERY game....not just the Grand Final, or ANZAC day games. Having been overseas various times & attended sports events, they play their national anthem before their regular season games.
There is nothing wrong with being patriotic & proud of our country. It doesn't have to be sung live, recorded would do. The roar from the crowd after the anthem is finished creates a great atmosphere at the game too.

I'm the opposite. I'm sick to death of hearing it before every AFL finals game. It's trotted out at the drop of a hat these days, a trait I think we've picked up from American culture.

What he said, gets overdone especially when you here it before every NRL game. Dilutes the effect IMO.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Totally agree, there was a time when it was the Grand Final only. Then it was a once a season roar.

Im with most above, play it only for GFs and a lesson learnt from 1987 is don't get a Kiwi who doesn't know the words to sing it (RIP Ricky May).
Interesting to see the 'new' NBL is trying to unAmericanise the comp and take it back to its Aussie roots of the 70s and 80s by playing less music, making games shorter (changing to worldwide rules as opposed to the NBA) and NOT playing the national anthem before every game.

I agree, I don't want it done before every game. Next he'll want it played before every u16s, u18s and Reserve game. A couple times a year at the football is fine enough for me.

I can't recall the exact detail of the bet, but if my memory serves me correct, I think I recall one CK say on the Monday Morning Sports Show the other week, that he would run out onto AAMI and steal the mic from who is going to sing and belt out his best rendition of the anthem  ;)
