I am trying to gauge what the rules are surrounding eligibility to play in Reserves grade finals. I believe if your club is competing in both League and Reserves then anyone could be picked in either side but what happens when only the Reserves grade team survives.

If I'm right, you need to play at least three out of the last eight minor round matches in the Reserves to qualify.

I was going to say, I think Powell, P.Fiacchi and maybe Treeby fit this requirement, but better not.

Think Passador, Wright and R.Fiacchi may be more of a chance Spelly, doubt any of the guys who played today would be able to drop back for the GF. The league is pretty strict on the who can and cant play from memory after last year when the league didnt make it alot of guys who you would have thought would have been eligable weren't. Would be a bit stiff for the young blokes too if too many changes were made.

You guys will do anything to get one up on your new coach (who doesn't start until Oct 5 at the earliest)!

That's from memory from last year. Unfortunately there are a lot of things the SANFL do not have on their website regarding qualification for finals in any grade.

According to Spelly's take on things - these players would be eligible for selection in the Reserves GF side:
Batley
Edwards
Heinjus
Hicks
McMahon
Papps
Staple
Rowntree
Dawson
Graham
Hill
Powell
Sumner
Banner
Brusnahan
Fairclough
Fitzgerald
McEntee
Polek J
Redden
Appleton
Cullen
Daniel
Davoren
Hier
Jolly
Smith
I would be interested to see the SANFL's take on Passador, Wright and R Fiacchi. none of which qualified by the 3 from last 8 minor round rule but have played more Reserves football than League.

Anyone who played League today shouldn't be eligible. A couple of our blokes missed out last year 'cause they played League the week before.

I think it's 3 out of the last 5 minor round games. But that was a couple years back.

Glenelg Reserves could lose to Central in the Prelim final.
