Transport to AAMI

Just checked the Adelaide metro and it appears that the only buses to the footy this sunday go from the city. I miss the old 340 bus which used to go Marino to Port Adelaide via Marion, Glenelg, Henley Beach and Westy Lakes. It appears I might have to get a cab  .. I can picture it now "where is football park sir? please direct me!"

I can't believe there's not going to be buses to football park. Surely the SANFL will act on this.

There are buses to AAMI, but they are the regular buses. The Footy Express buses wouldn't be worth it, just have to look at the attendance yesterday to see that it isn't the need. After the 2006 GF not many people got the normal buses.

Not meaning to be harsh but do people cope getting to suburban grounds during the minor round?

If so, what's the difference?

The fact that there's free parking ay Footy Park should be enough for most, but I'm sure there are legitimate exceptions.

Because the other grounds are serviced by adequate public transport. Maybe I'll just have 12 beers and take advantage of the free parking  .

So there's a a direct bus from where you live to every suburban ground? I'm just assuming that most people have a car and would drive and note that there may be legitimate exceptions, which you are suggesting.

There still buses to Footy park, but just the regular ones.

Is it possible to hitch a ride if you can with one of the Snouts?

It would be easier to get to AAMI than some local grounds. It is serviced by about 5 or 6 different routes. Some ovals only have 1.

I intend to drink at the game so I'll be bussing it - one bus into town and another one (#139?) out to West Lakes. A fair bit of travel, particularly on a Sunday with less frequent services. Adelaide Oval is much easier of course as virtually everyone can get into town on a single bus/train/tram then it's just the walk down to the Oval. Bring on the city stadium for footy/soccer/other sports I reckon.

And the City / Bay is on this Sunday too, for those coming across Anzac Highway, so expect delays...

the 157 from town would be the quickest I would think. Goes to West Lakes then on to Largs Bay.

Anyone know if there is a Footy Bus day planned for the GF?

I'm hoping to be there....

The quickest is to catch the 155 or 157 across the road from the train station. They got straight down Port Road. Or you can catch the 113, 115 or 117 from across the road from the Adelaide Metro Info Centre. They go Grange Road.

Definately dont go the 137. That will take forever.

Your best bet is to contact SANFL or Glenelg.

Pretty sure there were ones from elizabeth and glenelg as well as the city last year so I assume they would do the same with this years grand finalists.
