Oh my God! My hands are still shaking and my heart is beating double time. I'm not sure I can take a game that close next week. It's not good for my health.

Well done Dogs. Still a lot of work to do if we want to get over Glenelg next week though.

I think I need a stiff drink. Is 9am too early?

LOL.

Most painfully obvious finish ever. Central 2009 premiers.

Nice work by the umps to get them over the line too. That "in the back" tackle was a disgrace.

But at the same time, Central lifted when the occasion arose. For any club playing the Dogs the game isn't over with 5 minutes to go.

i agree that double goal was really there too.......the umpire (a) should have called sharples for running too far regardless of sharples going down like butter. worst decision of all time.

the 'in the back' was exactly what happened....he was pushed in the back.

you are a joke buddy.

When Sturt got the double goal I thought it may have slit Centrals throats. When Trengove goaled at the 20ish minute mark I thought they were gone. Silly me for doubting the Dogs.

I really dont like em but god damn you cant help but have enormous respect for what Central Districts have become. Mentally they are never ever out of it. Psychologically the best side there has been in SANFL football.

What a bloody fantastic first week of the finals! Cant ask for more from the two games than that.

As Albert Bensimon would say, Hoo Haah.

Unfortunately couldn't make it to the game today, but those supposedly 'dodgy' frees a few have highlighted were certainly there. To see them close up on TV (complete with replays) verified this. To deconstruct a loss based on frees given in the last minutes of a game is always counterproductive anyway. They were there, as was C. Sharples buy one get one free goal, as was Elvis Presley's birthday which I attended last night.
I thought we were heading for a showdown with the Eagles next week and reckon this truly must rank as one of our best wins in a season that has really been ordinary to date at best.
Woof!

Funny thing is i think that decision was the turning point of the game, Centrals seemed to use that as motivation.

Wow. That was a fun ride! Too pumped up to write any kind of review. Wow.

Can anyone (am Bays?) clarify the double goal free rule? I thought all clear needed to be called for a double goal to eventuate? Not that it matters, just curious on the rule.

Good quality finals game (as were Eagles v North).

Sturt just don't know how to pull the trigger it seems. While you cannot deny the Dogs the victory by kicking 3 late goals, Sturt were very valiant in defeat.

Well played Central ... you will need to crank it up a couple of gears next week as the Bays will be a much tougher opponent.

And contrary to a statement allegedly made by one of the Central players leaving the ground, no, the Bays are certainly not sh*tting themselves, but are relishing the opportunity to play you next week.

Let's hope it is another good finals game.

Who told you that.

I think I would only need two guesses.

It is wrong by the way.

Gowans made the comment in the huddle before they walked off the ground, ABC caught it.

Add me to those who thought the game was over with a Sturt win. Great grinding effort by them today, Centrals just know how to get it done when it matters.

What's the lowdown with this post game incident being mentioned?
