i believe both 5AN (891am) & 5AA are broadcasting the elimination & qualifying finals this sunday & infact the entire finals series

so i urge everyone that listens to the footy to listen to either 5rph (1197am) or life fm (107.9) on sunday & beyond to SUPPORT the broadcasters that are there EVERY WEEK, i feel it is important.....obviously for those 'out bush' who can't pick up a decent reception & haven't got a computer to get a podcast, well then that is fair enough to take the abc's call then

Last time I listened to the ABC (Norwd v Sturt at Parade) the commentators had no idea who most of the players were. Most of them they just guessed -and got wrong. Hope they have done a bit of homework since then.Nevertheless I am more than happy to tune in to the 2 stations that I have listened to all year. They know the players names, know their history and are genuinely interested in the SANFL-support them if you can :D

Good point bluegirl. Having both 5AA and 5AN (to a lesser extent because they can at least give Country coverage) broadcast the SANFL when it suits them and because it's finals is insulting to both Life and RPH who do a great job.

I can't wait to hear the AA call of the Eagles vs. North where the Eagles who will most likely have a plethora of AFL players playing so we can expect to hear those names called all day and the only North name likely to hear is Gill!

I think we should cut the ABC some slack since their TV branch has been covering the SANFL for about 2 decades.
I must admit if last year's finals are anything to go by I'll be switching between Life and the ABC. I found the ABC was really good last year in their finals coverage. Obviously there's not much more they can do during the year as they provide a huge a service not just locally but to our country friends in regard to AFL matches.
5AA can go to hell though, I'd almost rather listen to a Paul Blandis call.

To be fair though RPH stuffs up players names as well. I know during the recent west v north game DB got about 5 players in a row wrong.

Even when they don't I have no idea who they're talking about with the stupid nicknames they give.

Personally I'm going to enjoy a finals series with no hi diddle diddles or Smithfield Crash Clangers.

Only part of the time mate, most of my SANFL finals radio listening will be driving back from Melbourne and 5AN reaches as far as the border where Life is only good from about Murray Bridge.
