It's not broadcast on radio

BUT

Given LifeFM's game (Portv Sturt) is finishing earlier we will try and do a lot of crosses during the last quarter, especially if it is close.

Could well be as South have nothing to lose and North risk more injuries to add to the list we have had all season bar 1 week.

Apart from Schwarze (has a dodgy back and only played 5 minutes of the ressies last week) and Whyman (in the ressies coming back from long term injury) others missing this week from our first round line-up and you could argue our best 21 include Sporn, White and McIntrye (half the defence) and Matty Wright. Throw in Budgie injured as well, Marlon Motlop finished with injury a few weeks ago there is a bit of experience and talent missing.

Re the rucks - another who would have likely got a gig this week if fit would be Dodman and possibly Luke McEntee who is also injured which has reduced the ruck stocks. So young James Craig is yet another North debutant - not a bad move as he is likely to go in the draft and as an All Australian U18 he has some good size and good skills about him so at least we get to see him briefly in the League unless he gets drafted by the Crows or Power? At least we can also throw Stewart into ruck if needed.

Alleway is also a risk with his shoulder and we would be in real strife if we lost him as well. Good to see Gilly back to add some height and despite being named up fwd would expect he might play at CHB if needed although South don't have a tall fwd line. Cunningham's return is timely too.

Hopefully we get throw unscathed and with a win and with White and Budgie to come back, Sporn possibly and also Whyman and Schwarze getting through the ressies with some form, at least we will have some options. Macca is a big loss at FB however Davis or Cunningham can play that spot with Gill or White at CHB possibly for next week.

Another disappointing loss is Thiele again for discipline reasons and after he got a good wrap re his game and attitude last week in the ressies. He has gone from League to not even on the bench in the ressies in 2 weeks!

South are half a chance in this one. The second half last week was some of most attacking and impressive footy we've played since 2006 and if the boys can put in a solid effort over 4 Qs a win is a possibility.

North haven't been overly impressive to be honest, but have dominated South from 2006 onwards. Alleway and Gill always give us some worries. Would like to see someone like Sandery go to Archard and wear him all day long.

Well, they have been practicing at Prospect all year for this.

Finally we may legitimately hear the Panther's song after the match.

I think South will be competitive for 3 quarters before North run on for a comfy 6 goal win, Nick Gill to kick 5 in his comeback game...

Don't forget for South and North supporters not able to attend, I'll be at Prospect for LifeFM (107.9) giving regular score updates and if it is close in the last term, I may even get to call the finishing stages of the game with the Port v Sturt broadcast game starting and therefore finishing early.
