Absolute rubbish! Matthew ruled himself out of contention within days of the position becoming available. Just another baseless rumour!

There are that many names floating about it's not funny (Bassett, B. James, Bewick, R.Smith, German, Fuller, Oatey etc) ... Whilst the odd one might be a legitimate applicant, Im sure the rumour mill is throwing up plenty of names that won't have ever been in the mix.

Sit tight, all will be revealed soon enough.

I reakon if you throw enough names into the hat, one of them will be the coach, as per this list I compiled last year:

i'd say that cotton hasn't done much wrong since he took over, however we all know the word was for nathan bassett even before hill left the building, but i'm hearing robbie neil will make the final 4 or 5 candidates......while we're all throwing names out there what does crouch or fosdike sound like as coach of norwood ?

Depends on how low Fosdike can crouch I guess!

I've backed myself in. Even though I know I won't get the job, I couldn't resist the odds :)

I love these threads, and good to see everyone joining in on the fun. I'm happy just to sit back and wait to see who they decide upon.

FWIW, from what I've heard from those who may be in the know, Norwood have already decided uopn their preferred coach, it's just a matter of dotting the i's and crossing the t's .. and the timing of the announcement is a consideration as well.

In seriousness, this is the most important coaching appointment, possibly in the club's history, It's essential we appoint the right person for the job, and I hope we don't stuff it up.

Our previous form in coaching appointments has me worried.

From what I have been told at Information nights the process of selection will be upheld to the letter.

1. All applications go through MacArthur Sports
2. Best 5 will be submitted to Special committee
3. Best 3 from that interview process will be given a chance to present a plan to the committee
4. Best 2 will asked re-present to the board
5. Final decison will be made by the select committee at the end of October.
6. New coach will be appointed by 1st November, in a full time coaching appointment.

Any talk of anyone being a lay down for the job is rediculous, the best man available, will win this gig

Cheers

I hear that Norwood can only afford to pay the new coach a max of $90 000 per year.
