North won the ressies I'm sure I heard at the start of the day. 6ish goals.

Apologies if I'm wrong, been a long day.

The weather was fine and warm, bit like the last week of the finals round weather actually, and out came the bulldogs, woof woof woof, opposition not all that flash but the Doggies just showed glimpses of their best. They just love it from this time of the season on

Out coached .... with a third of the side tagging some-one, and therefore chasing a player, that left two thirds to chase the ball. Agreed that certain players need to be tagged, but a third plus the backs makes the North game plan (???) a defensive one. You could see players looking for their player not the ball. They even peeled out of the contest not to leave their player. I guess these were the instructions.

A totally defensive game plan by North, and the only result possible .... a thrashing. IE Delvins followed James Gowans everywhere, including the centre. He kept Gowans out of the play, but last week was dominant in stoppage clearances. Clarky the same and Stribbling. Stribbling looks best and is very effective running clearances down the wing, did not see him do that as he was like glue on O'Sullivan who still carved us up.

Brenton Phillips commentating on the ABC made a few valid points time and time again, where are the North Forwards, oh there they are on the half back line, dropped my beer in the 3rd 1/4 when Norths rover Archard got a possession for North in front of the centre line, many think that the game plan Healy is trying to bring in will work, I doubt it very much. I still sit back and wait for the answer to my question on the NAFC website of what has happened to the footy they played against Sturt earlier in the year.

Anyway Centrals good today but still nowhere near their peak, know Laird will work them harder in the next few weeks. Lot of talent out in Dogland at the minute (oh well for the last 10 years)

I think the harder training has already been done, now it relaxes a little come finals. ;)

The result was never in doubt, with Centrals going from go to woe in a big 53 point win. Great 4 quarter effort. I was a bit concerned for the first 10 minutes or so as Centrals dominated but only had 1.1 on the board. Then they turned it on and slammed on three quick goals, as they have done repeatedly in the past. From there it was pretty much all Centrals, who were constantly the first to the ball, and created many opportunities.

As for North, well Richard Williams was their best player.

What a great day to watch footy on TV ... choice was between the Doggies quietly demolishing an insipid North, or Richmond giving Joel Bowden an end of career send off as only that club can.

I thought North showed some fight last week and was surprised at some of the negative comments from their supporters after the game, and thought they would at least be competitive today ... but, no they were woeful and are surely now just making up the number in the 5 after losing to all the other top 5 teams in recent weeks. My apologies to the North supporters who knew better than me and I now agree with you.

Well played Central, you did everything you had to do to win comfortably.

Got to grin, spent the 2nd quarter with a couple of old Centrals end to enders (& I mean the mid 80's breed) & we spent half the time clucking at the shenanigans to the right of the bar. Spent the rest of the game with mates I've been going to the footy with for 25 years, never have a bad day at the footy.

Sorry for saying this, but that was slightly amusing as he is my wife's 2nd cousin and we were at home watching the telecast ... and she hates the Doggies.

I can't recall who 'nudged' him though.
