R18 North v Sturt @ Prospect

Postby Voice » Tue Jul 28, 2009 11:33 pm

Will Sturt turn their recent form against the Roosters around or will the talls of North make it hard for Sturt to get the ball again?
I'm thinking it will be a much better showing by Sturt this time around. Quicker ball movement in the last couple of weeks has held us in good stead.

North would need a massive improvement in skills and manning up to have any chance for starters this week.

Our height advantage may not be there this week if Alleway doesn't come up and Davis goes to the Crows which is expected. If that is the case, White will have to go to CHB and that will leave only Stewart (horrible last week) at CHF and Schwarze (who at present with his goal kicking - couldn't hit water if he was standing in the ocean) at FF so we won't have any height advantage.

Sadly it will be Sturt comfortably for me this week.

Agree with Drebin here, North too inconsistent and I believe have a few injury worries as well, last decent game they played was many rounds ago against Sturt, since then have had a few wins against not so flash opposition. Think the flogging Sturt got that day at Prospect turned Sturt's season right around. To put it simply, Sturt have forwards that are capable of kicking a hell of a lot of goals, North haven't. In saying that as was pointed out elsewhere I am usually wrong, so Sturt by 7 goals ;)

We were flogged the next week aswell by the Bays so if the North game turned our season around, it didn't turn around quickly enough.

Sturt games don't seem to be attracting much interest from any posters atm. Bugger all posts from last weeks game and 7 (3 from me) in this thread. Are we all on holiday?

it should be a close game. Sturt want to win to give a break on North for third spot while North dont want to fall behind too far. north have matched up well on sturt this year. rumours have it that north might have some injuries and there could be 1 or 2 at sturt. i am calling it a close game, margin will be 3 goals and the winner hopefully sturt.

So Clint Alleway is still missing with his shoulder injury...

Is it worst than first thought or are North being cautious with finals around the corner and giving him 1 more week...

Yeah, I read that as well, but the reason I asked was because I had heard that it might have been the season for him, but hope that is wrong for North's sake...

I was told by a person involved with the League side that his shoulder is "stuffed" but he will be patched up and return soon.
Just how long is soon, is anybody's guess but i got the impression it was more than a week away

You asked me in the Are North Gone thread and I advised you it would be 2 weeks. I don't think I'll bother in the future.
