2006 was pretty good for the Panthers southee, in the overall scheme of things...

I wouldn't be suprised if the Clay Sampson coached side gets up this weekend for win number two !!?

can the west team handle being a short priced favourite ($1.30 with sportsbet atm) in their quest this week ? could it affect their attitude going into the game ? if it doesn't west will win but they wont get my money at that price
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

There is no way we justify $1.30

IMO South are better than their performances, mostly due to lack of confidence.

Seen it for years at West Adelaide, snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory. We are still doing it but to a much lesser extent.

South have had some great quarters this year, if they start like that maybe they will have the confidence to repeat round 1.

I am tipping the Bloods in this one but not betting at $1.30, when was the last time we had those odds? Maybe 2003?

I think south will have to dig even deeper into their list this week!
There is a young fella Keegan Brooksby who has been playing under 18s and kicking quite a few goals and last weekend kicked 3 in his first ressies game. He's tall and obviously knows where the goals are.Maybe its time to give him a go in the league team! Sure he is young but its not like he would be the first youngster we have played this season.
I hope we can be better than last saturday!
I am truly finding very few positives this season and the only way to help twords season 2010 would be to get at least one more win. This will happen if the players beleive they can and the coaching staff drill it home to them the importance of the basics of football. It is not rocket science!
Saturday will give a good indication of how far west have come in the past year, and where we are currently at!
Besides all the negatives I am still looking forward to the clash.
* A note for Clay- give Brooksby a shot in the league side ;)

I completely agree. Give the young bloke a debut. He can obviously play so it's time for the club to show a bit of vision and back some young talent. It could be a selection masterstroke and also be the making of Brooksby as a footballer.

From what I saw of Brooksby last week, I would definately give him the nod in the League side, he has height, body weight, moves well, knows where the goals are, would lack experience for sure, another young bloke to get some senior game time will be valuable for next year and now is the time to see if he can handle the pace of the next level.

Westies would be the ideal team to play him in the seniors against, I see no reason why you would bring a lad into the side against the likes of Centrals/Port/Sturt at their home grounds like has happened this season.
I wish my remembering was as good as my forgetting

I'd definitely give him a crack.
He is pretty young but a nice size, going to be a big lad when he fills out, a lot like his dad, former South player, Phil Brooksby.

Agreed spelly it would be great to see us kick 15 goals in a game.

As we all know West were the last team that South defeated. Will this mean anything come saturday? Very unlikely, given the contrasting directions that each club's season has gone since then.

I was very confident going into the Port and Norwood matches recently. I guess I wont be making that mistake this week :?

If Warren has a day out we're a chance. Like some of you westies supporters it would be great to see my club kick over 100 points too. It hasn't happened since Round 2 2008
