It was the Nick Salter show in the first half with him kicking 7 of the Eagles 8 goals to half time. North started with a 3 goal breeze to the Northern end, but could not make the most of their opportunities and only registering 1 goal to the Eagles 3 to quarter time. The Eagles continued their dominance all over the field to be comfortably 34 points up at half time. Or so it seemed...

The roles reversed in the 3rd quarter and North dominated, quickly catching up and passing the Eagles score to be up by 2 points at 3 quarter time and with all the momentum. The Eagles became too Salter focused and North were on to it, double teaming him and restricting the Eagles movement of the ball.

Fuller pulled a new trick out of the book by placing Kenny up forward for the start of the last quarter. It worked again, with him adding 2 goals. Despite White putting North up by 7 points early in the last, the Eagles quickly responded and took control with the wind, running out victors by 23 points.

North lacked a big man in defence and have a similar problem as the Eagles do with McGregor, as to what to do with White. I've seen McIntyre constantly get badly beaten by his opponent (whether it be Passador, Salter, McGregor or Schwarze in the past). The Eagles still fall asleep for a quarter. I don't think either team will take much from this game going forward, however, we are a much better team with Hier at Full Back.

It was hard to pick best players for the Eagles as many came in and out of the game, but a few names who I thought were important in the victory included Grocke, Salter, Rimington, Jarrad, Cicolella and McGregor.

Good summary Aerie, Eagles too good for 3 quarters, off to see the Angels now after a Cats win over Hawthorn so all is not lost, great win by our ressies too!
North were aSultered by the Eagles!

Simply put North lost that game in the first quarter.
Eagles almost lost it in the third quarter.
Whoever used the wind better would win the day and in the end it was the Eagles who did.
Salter showed choco what he can produce.But Eagles were to Salter focused in the third term.Luke Jarrad was every where and the only Eagles winner in the third term.And little Cheep was at one stage our only other multiple goal scorer.Some poor uneducated North player let a few fly in the Cheep direction.And was pretty stunned when he returned fire with a few more thrown in for good measure .So can any other Eagles fan tell me why he starts or spends so much time on the bench.He comes on and kicks a goal .Also his close in and under work looked fantastic from the grandstand.
Special mention to Trent Hentschell he looked ok down back ,his kicking looked a bit suspect but his body work and marking were outstanding.
Perhaps it was his cheer squad ( working on a sign for them from the club CD or Pass talk to Nadia please)but he who I must call the BODY(Adam Grocke to everybody else).Well he must read SA footy and some North fans comments about him.I think he played some very good goal kicking footy today .
Just for the record I am posting early as we didnt eat at the Eagles club .Couldn't be bothered waiting for a table !!!

All in all a very lucky win by the Eagles today at FORTRESS WOODVILLE yes that's right FORTRESS WOODVILLE.Anyone who doesnt like the name come to the oval and tell me about it .

well they will meet again in the Elimination final one would think. North to put it simply burn the ball going into attack and appear to have no real structure in attack, neither of these 2 sides will have any impact on the finals series unless they improve dramatically
