Just wondering what posters would like to see the SANFL include with the 2010 Season?
I am planning to write to them with a list of suggestions as I have several of my own that I want to suggest, I am hoping that if enough good ideas can be suggested we can get them considered before the SANFL put together the draw for 2010. If they are looking at Playing matches before AFL games, which its fairly clear from here isnt wanted, lets give them some ideas that people do want that will get the results in that they are looking for to expand interest in the competition and increase its profits.
Anyway here is my list which I am working on.
1. Double Header Matches - Adelaide, Football Park, Thebarton, wherever.
2. Could the number of matches at Thebarton be increased from one to three?
3. More Friday night matches at the start of the SANFL Season when the weather is good.
4. The SANFL to consider spending some coin and to host and properly promote a Heritage round to coincide with the SA History Week. - Maybe to include a South vs Norwood match at Kensington Oval.
5. The Premier of the SANFL to get a go at the Premier of the WAFL as a part of the SANFL pre-season competition.
6. All SANFL clubs to host a match in their country area, perhaps half in 2010 and the other half in 2011.
Add away!

North to tell the SANFL the opposite of what they actually want so they get what they want!

- An increase in night matches - go back to having 4-5 at Hamra Homes, 4-5 at Coopers, and then have another 4-5 at Adelaide Oval.
- With Adelaide Oval once again available, have each club have 8 home, 8 away and 4 neutral games per year.

Deemed inappropriate.

Hate the place, struggles to cater for 2000 people. Only positive the place has is its location, should demolish the entire place, put it under the ownership of someone else and start again, then it might get my support.

Oooh you'll anger the SACAites on here with those words... I've uttered disparaging words before and some have had gandy fits over it. 8-)

the push these days is for minor round games to be all played at suburban grounds and the major rounds at AAMI or Adelaide Oval. It will be good if glenelg get there lights in the next couple of years so it gives the SANFL more choice of playing saturday night football at.

I don't think Thebarton would come up to scratch.
The grandstand I believe needs some reasonable work done.
Was there 6 weeks ago and it was caged off.
My wishlist.
1 Less Sunday games or game dates changed late.
2 Country games are good as long as they are within reasonable travelling distance.
(Sturt v West - Waikerie was sensational, due to the Waikerie Footy Club's hospitality)
3 Reasonable beer prices. There is a lot of unevenness at different grounds.
(There are 3 prices at Prospect depending which bar you visit)
4 Umpires to be consistent.
- At the top of the list stop picking the easy soft frees 5 metres in front of them.
- 2 umpires being positioned closer to the play. One on either side of the contest.
They ball watch too much. It works ok in basketball.
Don't really need to mess with it too much, I like the spectacle the way it is, save for the above.

U18 games BEFORE AFL games not after.
More toliets inside Thebby Oval (east side behind the scoreboard).
All U18s that are played before the reserves/League to start at 8.30 not 8.45 as has happened a couple times this year.

Country/Regional round - All 4 games of a set round to be played in clubs country zone, alternatively each club to play 1 game each in their country zone over the course of the season.
Heritage round - Including all grounds reverting back to traditional names for the round.
Pre-season knockout competition or a few interstate trial matches against VFL/WAFL clubs.
3-5 Double Headers.
Centrals to have an extra 2 night games than 2009.
No minor round matches to be played at Football Park.
First 3 weeks of finals to be played at Adelaide Oval or suburban grounds.
SANFL to consider scheduling 1 game at Wayville and/or Kensington Oval.

Just curious, what would this achieve?

THink of the exposure the SANFL could get if they were to play a game at Wayville on a Friday night when the Royal Show is on...
It is a suggestion CK has been pushing for a while now and I think it would be great. I would think that it would probably work best with Sturt (of course) playing the Bays, thus ensuring a good turn out I reckon.

Who's going to pay for the reconfiguring of these ovals to get up to league standard?
Surely there's better things to spend money on than one off things like this, its pie in the sky.
