Round 16 Coca-Cola Star Search Nomination

Jack Trengove from Sturt Football Club has been named the Round 16 Coca-Cola Star Search nominee.



Fresh from an impressive showing at the U18’s Championship last month, Trengove put in a solid performance in his second League match on the weekend.

He notched up 12 kicks, six marks, eight handballs and a goal during Sturt’s win over the Panthers on Saturday.

Trengove was recently named in the U18 All-Australian side and was captain of SA during this carnival.

And what a goal it was. I was standing directly behind him.

On the run on the LH flank kicking into a strong and tricky wind.
Straightened slightly onto his right foot and to quote Dennis Commetti, measured the kick and slotted it right through the middle, centimetre perfect. Never looked like missing off the boot.

The kid has all the balance, skills and poise of Nathan Buckley.

Alas, I will be able to say I watched 8 games or so of his, before he is off to be a superstar somewhere.

He is a very talented kid thats for sure. He will go in the top 5 in this years draft IMO, which would mean he will become an Eagle, Demon, Docker or Tiger i would think.

If he'd had stayed on more year in Naracoorte he'd be a Tiger right now....
