I noticed that Hinge got injured very early in game, any idea of what he done and how bad. Didn't look good

I'm not sure what to make of that game. Port played real well with a lot of intensity and backed themselves in the first and last but went missing for the middle half.

The Bays started slowly but I thought controlled the game without capitalising on the scoreboard. The forward entries were attrocious with little method giving the forwards much of a chance.

Again, the lack of composure for shots at goals reared its ugly head. Could have easily been 6 or 7 goals up at stages but bad kicking is bad footy.

I wouldn't say the Bays were lucky to win, but Port were impressive at times and would be very disappointed to not steal the points.

I didn't hear anything on the radio on the way home about Hingey, but from the way he landed and hobbled off, I'd say a fairly severe ankle injury ... fingers crossed.

While always good to get the points, do not go into next weeks match against the Doggies with heaps of confidence, but its up to the boys to regroup and make a statement against the league's benchmark.

Lot to be said for winning ugly . Bottom line 29 scoring shots to 18 so should have won by more but didn't.

At times Port out worked us and we're more committed at the contest - something to work on.

Our forward entries and execution in the forward line was atrocious - another thing to work on namely kicking through the ball.

I thought Fish, Ty and Ruory we're best for us and Mulesy and Murph stood up in the last quarter.

Umpiring wasn't too bad a few decisions for both teams you thought hmm, but generally they rewarded the bloke going for the footy and gave blokes time with ball to dispose of it.

Pity about Hingey as I don't think we'll see him for 2-3 weeks with his ankle.

As I said a win is a win, plenty of work to do though witht his weeks litmus test against Centrals.

<edit> also todays win confirmed a finals birth for us, 6 and half wins clear of 6th with 6 games to go....

I was worried it might have been that bad ... I had a good view of it and he did land hard and awkward on it.

Not good news but it does open up an opportunity for someone else to step up. Cruel game this football sometimes.

If anybody cares about the observations of an independent witness, here it is:
The maggots tried to keep Port in it throughout every quarter.
The bays held sway but seemed to do their best to kick themselves out of the game.
Willoughby and Grima should hang their heads in shame. They, with a number of teamates,
had an amazing number of chances to kick a cricket score and destroy the swampies,
but casually threw it away, time and time again.
The result may never have been in doubt, but the performances certainly were.
Wharfies on the improve, all over the park. Bays may have the goods, but looked only OK,
if not very ordinary today IMHO.
Can't work out how Glenelg reserves lost. Looked stronger and more competent but just didn't
put it together for long enough.
A very interesting day for a Norwood boy to be surrounded by Snout's Louts & Magpie Maniacs !

Fair review SABRE ... good to see you've seen the light and ventured to the Bay for the day. Did you notice the nice clubrooms behind you? Maybe let your powers to be know that every club needs one, no matter how good or bad they're travelling.

Try a floater while you were there (if they had them today)? ... I'm too lazy to walk over to the other side of the ground to check them out.

As an Oakdale Coach I know the Bay buildings very well. Being good friends of the ITS transport
boys I've happily been a guest at a number of games and business lunches at these fine rooms.
That's why I've felt compelled to pass on requirements that once again will make Norwood's
planned facilities, the very best in the business throughout the world of Australian Rules Football.
Sorry, didn't bother with a pie floater. Since the Norwood 'Parade' pie cart closed up I've never
been tempted to try anything that could only be classed as 2nd best, at best. As for Glenelg's
limitation with West End garbage versus the COOPER'S quality range of truly S.A. products, well,
the less said the better.
Despite all the misgivings you've had to suffer, I hope you've had a good weekend thus far.

Yes, true, can't imagine they'd be the same but good on them for trying it out anyway. By the way, prefer the pie cart than cinemas on the Parade just quietly. Bastards for moving it on (and out of business).

The Bays do have a great setup there, as for every club needing them well that is dreamworld as not every club has a hope in hell of affording them or having the room to construct it let alone a council and residents that will go along with it.
Put's the whole "$trut" bullshit into perspective, for some at least but not for the moronic few.
I do like to go down to the Bay, be good if I could see a win sometime also.

Yeah, Sturt are in a bit of a bind with Unley and the Council ... makes it a bit hard to identify with the community.

Not sure what the long term answer is though.

Some pretty goos summaries there, it was a tough win but one with some much to improve on, are we going thru a heavy workload on the track? We could hardly lift out legs in the last 1/4 despite coming off the bye....

Good game of SANFL footy and the PAM's played pretty well, at least their fans can be content that they are giving 100%

Highlight for me was Mulesy diving intercept mark in the cricket pitch when Port were charging home

Only have to get the W this time of year

Big blow to the Bays. He'll be sorely missed if he is indeed out for the season. Good opportunity for a 2nd's player to step up.

i thought while we dominated the play (not the scoreboard) for the majority of the day port were very brave to keep plugging away & it might be just me but i think port have a better team performance & unity when clayton does not play, what do you port blokes think ?

spot on bayman they are a better side with him not in the team starting to doubt he is worth the $$$$ he is paid good player but not a team player

I've stated this previously & some think i don't know what i'm on about.
Jeremy has undoubted ability but lets himself down with undisciplined acts & selfishness, he's very quick to knock players if they are unaccountable, undiscipline or lacking in the skills department when turning the ball over but needs to practise what he preaches as its all OK if he f...s up.
If only he was more supportive & encouraging to alot of the youngsters inparticular Port would not of lost so many youngsters to the Amateurs or Country Football Leagues.
I personally don't think he'll be around next year but if he is he needs to change his ways very quickly.
