FORGOTTEN REDLEG IS BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK

Postby mal » Sun Jul 12, 2009 10:03 pm

Good news for NW and all footy followers
Scott Borlace is set to return to football in 2 weeks time v SA
The new coach will welcome the little champ back after being in cotton wool for so long

I assume the knee injury that has had him out for so long was first damaged at Richmond Oval early in the 2008 season ?

Hopefully Scotts presence whether it be in the Bs or As will give the club a real inspiration

Yes, that injury which started it all happened against West and Richmond, right in front of me in fact. Was rushed back, could barely run or kick the ball, and hasn't been able to get on the park since.

He's an absolute champion, love watching him play and it'll be awesome to see him back out there.

Not exactly forgotten...Scotty himself was talking about returning to play during the Rd 13 game when he was the guest on RPH's gameday coverage.

Be great to have him playing again :D

Im not sure how to say this, because Borlac is a champion bloke, and has been a champion devotee to our club so I would never want to speak ill about him ... But IMHO, Norwood have needed better midfielders than this for quite some time (say 5 years or so).

There's no doubting Borlacs courage, or ability to find the ball ... But speed and foot disposal have always been questionable.

MAL coming back in the B's and playing about 60% at best in his first game, how will that "inspire" the league side ;) ;)

borlace is cleary the best footballers you guys have and have missed him dearly... i could only imagine that a previous captain of the sa team would benefit his team and hopfully next year we can see him at his best again...

Since Norwood are stuffed, would he be better off forgetting about this year rather than playing a couple of games at best and concentrate on 2010 ?

I would have thought that the whole point of coming back now is to get irreplaceable game-day, for-comp-points experience, so that he's right to play at his peak from round 1, 2010.
