I'm pleased my nephew Jake made the final cut and his heading over to Sydney to play...

Good luck to the boys, let's hope they are competitive and produce some good results...

Is Matthew Jacquier related to Steve Jacquier who played for Woodville in the 1980's?

also the only rep from North Adel is Jack Viney, Todd's son. I wonder if Melbourne will be watching his progress ready for the father/son rule.

Presumably Steve didn't play enough games for Woodville, thereby meaning another missed father/son opportunity for the PAFC.

Only the top 25 go. Players 26 to 30 were cut. Also 5 or so others that from what I saw over the year were very very very unlucky. Good luck to the boys who made it. To those that did'nt remember cream invariably rises to the top so keep working hard. Obviously best 25 players were not picked but what was envisaged the best team was. Let the week be the judge and may SA do well.

Congrats to Drew Gallard.
Had a bit to do with young Droopy when I was at Renmark.
A top lad with a big future ahead.

All the kids in there have talent. Looking at the list it obviously paid to play for norwood and the eagles - 13 of the 25 players. Glenelg came second and only 1 ? I could ask where 6 or 7 other kids are but this is not the forum. Speaking to other coaches there was some surprise choices, but............
Good luck to those that made it and like that supercoach said above be judged by your week. People can only get you so far - talent does the rest. He was right when he says the cream will almost aways rise to the top. Win 2 of 3 and you have done well. We will all be barracking for SA.

I just spoke to my brother, who flies out to Sydney tomorrow to watch my nephew and the SA boys take on Vic Metro tomorrow, then the Nathan Buckly coached Vic Country on Friday.

He said SA won their first game against WA on Saturday just gone. Said that WA were touted as the favourite for the carnival but SA managed to hold on for a thrilling 1 point win after being about 6 goals up at 3/4 time.

Haven't got any other details in terms of final scores, better players and goal kickers but my brother will let me know when he gets to Sydney and will give me regular updates whilst there.

Well done to the boys, 1 from 1 !!

I am in sydney and saw the game it will be interesting to see what others thoughts are. Vic country by a mile. Some really good big boys. Hard to say how good Vic Metro are. SA smashed in the midfield, Mitchell for WA great - killed our boys 40 touches. Lucky we had goods backs and a decent wingman. Too one dimensional and no pace in the midfield. See what others thought.

Crows recruiting manager Matt Rendell said in his interview on 5AA last week that this was the best U/16 squad SA has produced. Be interesting to see how they go. A good start with a win over WA.

They'll go to the Gold Coast, is where they'll go.

Big Phil - Jake was ok, battled hard. Speaking to WA folk and they said their crop not very strong so will get an idea from vic metro game. Vic metro lost Dandenong and Geelong area to Vic country so are no where near where they were. Be interesting to see who gets left out as they played all 25 on saturday.
