NT are doing well, they are a top team in QFL in their first season and improving after beginning by winning home games and losing away games. They are gradually forming as a team and improving. They will now prove to be a competitor for SANFL possible players. If they had been allowed in this would have added to the SANFL instead of detracted from it!

Wasn't it up to the NT to join where they wanted? There was a lot of desire from the SANFL side of things to get the NT on board as far as I know.

Doggies4eva you and I have had long debates about this in teh past. For mine the Thunder is where it bloody well should be in a 2nd rate competition top. IMO teh QAFL is the equivalent of A1s. Yep they have great players capable of playing league footy down here but the lack of depth in there sides exposes the weakness of their competition. Some of those players in teh QAFL who sit on teh bench would be A2 players down here at best. We saw how relatively strong the QAFL is when with AFL listed players (Brisbane 2nds players) they still got beaten by teh WAFL side last year by over 100 pts in Townsville.
So I am not surprised that they are doing well in the QAFL. I still don't think the NT Thunder side would beat many SANFL reserves sides.

21 players, plus another 5-10 coaches, doctors, physios etc is approx 26 x $?? each way for flights, plus accomodation. I would take a punt that it is $10k a pop for an away game for a SANFL side - I can think of plenty of better things for them to spend their cash on.
