Rnd 13 - Panthers v Central @ Noarlunga

So the Dogs got back in the winners circle after a hard fought win over the Roosters while the Panthers come off a loss where they showed some good signs against the Eagles.

I think this game could go one of 2 ways. The Dogs would be keen to put in 4 quarters of footy and if they do, they are capable of winning by at least 10 goals. Otherwise, it could be a real dour, scrappy affair that is low scoring (depending on weather) and the Dogs do enough to win by a few goals.

The Panthers are showing some improvement but will struggle with consistancy with a young side. They have not too bad a record against the Dogs at home recently but one would think the Dogs will win comfortably.

Central by 47 points

Dogs to kick 50 sausage rolls and get up* by 239!

I'll be there. It's only an 80 minute drive there, and another 80 on the way back. Closer than the Gabba!.

South seem to have performed a lot better since their bye without much luck (e.g. Nwd game) but anyone in their right mind who picks South is a........(insert whatever word here!).

Central by how ever much they want to win it by!

Over the last few seasons we've been notorious for actually putting in a semi-decent showing against Centrals. Dogs to win pretty easily but my tip is around 40. Our recent record against them at Noarlunga isn't as bad as it could be.

Mitch received 2nd best payer for the reserves Sunday, he looked good for the first time out with the club, did he do enough to warrant selection in the 1'ns? maybe not but then selectors do funny things, will he push a young up and comer out or will one of the out of form more experianced make way for him?

Selection is allways a problem.

since our dynassty has been going we have lost on this ground quite a few times.

It would be one of our worst away grounds in terms of % win/loss.

So I will just be happy to take the 2 premiership points and avoid an embarassing loss. I think the tips of big margins are way off. (Hope I am proven wrong  )

Centrals record down there isn't all that bad. Since 1997 they haved played there 13 times, won 8 & lost 5.
Centrals have won 7 of the last 9 games there (South won in 2005 & 2006).

We've lost three times there in our dynasty (2000, 2005 and 2006).

Considering we've lost our last 4 at House Brothers and 4 of our last 5 at Woodville I'd say winning 7 of our past 9 games at Hickinbotham is pretty good - in fact winning 7 of 9 at any away ground at any time is a pretty good job. OK, many of those wins have been scrappy (I think we've only won one game in our dynasty there by over 100 points), but they're nonetheless, wins.

As for the game itself, it will be an ugly, scrappy affair with Centrals winning by 40 points.

South are getting closer to a win. The young list is learning a bit more every week.A win is not far away, dont think it will be this week but hope I'm horribly wrong. :?

That means we have lost 2 of the last 4 there. Shocking considering that South have not been a finals side lately!

Actually, 2 out of the last 5 (we made two trips down there in 2005)

Well, one of those losses we played our second straight game in 37 degree heat whilst South had the bye the week before (2005), and the other loss (2006) was a year South reached the semi-finals and were in good form at the time. Also, compared to other grounds I'd hardly call our record at Noarlunga shocking.

Don't get excited shoe buoy - Our 06 loss of 10.11 to 20.7 (58 pts) was I think our worst on record.

I think Jimmy is just fishing for a bite
