Port may have lost a few games this season, yet its worth putting it into context that most of those losses were by fairly narrow margins, despite the loss of Waterhouse and others, Port seem to be galvanising as a team and the results are starting to show.

Was there ever any doubt Port would win this game? None in my mind.

Port are doing the right think by blooding local (and zone) juniors and not relying on expensive recruits. Many of these young guys played well today and the future is starting to look brighter.

Corey Achee is still the heartbeat of that team though.

Guess it takes the pressure of South then, the side can at least go forward to the rest of the season realising that there is not any specific game that they will be expected to be a chance of winning! :?

Looks like everything fell into place for the first time this year. The senior players all played well and did their job and the youngsters were all very very good. The last 10 minutes of the 2nd quarter is what won the game. 4-5 quick goals and we went from behind to 3 goals up at the half.

Murray was BOG by a mile - top call topsy & wycbloods...yup...what a hack  . 30 touches 10 marks and a goal. Great effort. McInerney was 2nd best, great game on the back flank and his run and long kicking was valuable. Trengove good on Rowe. Young destroyed Gallagher in the middle, Lokan destroyed Vlatko. Kirkwood and Mardling both very good as well. Carr and Hall had their moments too. All played well really. Particularly good considering Lees went off with a broken collarbone in the first 5 seconds of the match.

Havent had a lot to cheer about but they are playing a lot of kids and hopefully it can all come together over the next year or two.

Macca, actually though Port won this in the last bit of the first quarter when they were able to stay in touch against the breeze.

Overall a pretty good game to watch (on the telly at least) consdering the positions of the two teams. Port's forward line played with more intent that Norwoods.

The umpiring also seems to have been better over the last few weeks, a ot of common sense umpiring rather than the strict letter of the law we se at AFL level.

Never though it would be good to see Port win, but if we can win tomorrow, then the five is virtually sown up.

From what I saw on TV, Norwood were pathetic, but Port also got away with a lot of shoves in the back - although they got pinged for a few.
It reminded me of the Port style of the 50s and 60s.
EPIGENETICS - Lamarck was right!
