What can one say, wasnt there but appears as though Centrals bolted out the gates early and kicked 4 to zip, North got 2 late in the first stanza but kicked 5 points to 3 into the wind in the 2nd 1/4, most missed from within 35 metres. With the wind in the 3rd North hit the front but listening to it on the radio, it appeared as though those 2 serials pest brothers hit their straps giving Centrals back the lead. Last 1/4 was a formaility. Once again we all learn a lesson never to write the Dogs off (they suck us in every year). North are around the mark but proved today if Damon White is held they have very limited scoring options. There forward runners need to do a hell of alot more. On saying that, thats my summary from the radio only, will be interested to see what is posted later from those there at the ground when they get home both on this forum and the Roost

If WWT win tomorrow North are out of the five. I would think the Eagles are a bigger worry.

Alright my thoughts on the day

-The dogs applied the pressure which i have come to love and know, it has been missing the last couple of weeks but was back today and North couldn't handle it.

-The dogs skills were still down but tackling pressure more than made up for this.

-Dutschke was the key indicator of Centrals pressure he was superb, Henderson also had a very good debut despite some basic errors, he presented all day and then got on the score sheet.

-North let themselves down with their kicking at goals, missed half a dozen realistic chances.

-I think Jimmy Allan thought he was playing for the sydney city ROOSTERS 90% of possesions went backward and sideward, lots of the ball but very innefective, ended up on Williams in the full back line.

-North have that nasty word potential, their best is very good but their not consistent enough. Have struggled against the two benchmarks Central and Glenelg.

-Also a very sad incident infront of the grandstand, an elderly man seemed to have had a heart attack, didn't look good at all and an ambulance had to be called and the man taken away. Im not sure what the end result was but it was very sad to see and made the football seem very insignificant. My best wishes are with the person and his family.

That is the best I have seen North summed up this year and oh so very very true. Hopefully a few that wear blinkers around read that comment and realise it cause it's right on the money

Which side do you think is the most vulnerable out of the current final five? Would that side not be at risk of losing their place if one of the lower tiered sides picks up their form at the halfway mark of the season? Remember Norwood in 1984?

Certainly puts football into perspective. There was also an extended 3 quarter time break as an ambulance entered the field to take the person off to hospital. Hope he makes a full recovery.

As for the game, well it was at times very ugly, but an ugly win is an ugly win. The second quarter was some of the worst football I'd ever seen, especially from North who missed several gimme shots at goal. At the end of the day, Centrals won by 5 goals with 1 more scoring shot. North really did kick themselves out of the game.

Highlight of the day would be Ricky Henderson's league debut for Centrals. Fitted right into the side and played fantastic.

Best on groud would be Chad O'Sullivan. When he kicked that goal early in the last quarter, I knew Centrals weren't going to lose this. Was always in it and played an absolute blinder.

I will also add that despite 2 massive loses i think we are very well placed. We are getting plenty of game time into alot of our younger players and still have the inclusions of
-Paul Thomas
-Yves Sibenaler
-Justin Hardy
-Charles Slattery
-Trent Goodrem
-Ritchie Cochrane
and AFL permitting
-Matthew Westoff
-Brad Symes
-Joanthon Griffin

All 9 of them if available would definately push the best 21 and improve the current side no doubt.

Considering it's Sports Tonight (national broadcast), it's great the SANFL gets a mention at all. But it does make it bleedingly obvious the show is produced on the eastern seaboard.

Sports Tonight have been showing SANFL scores and a couple of highlights for some time now, which is quite interesting given the show goes around the country. I think those mistakes are likely to be not the norm.
