Sorry, what are you saying? Good crowd or bad? I would have thought that was a good crowd given Adelaide Oval's situation and the fact it was a bloody cold night...

Sounds as though the Blues were comprehensively bowled over. Back to the drawing board. We're obviously not the side to beat... Two weeks can make a big difference. I still have faith we'll hit back though...

They were saying on 5RPH that if the game was played at Norwood Oval, they would have had 10,000 there. Not totally sure about that, but I honestly feel the state of Adelaide Oval would have kept a few thousand away tonight.

good effort again tonight ... blew the game away eary and a fairly even 2nd half in the end.

Sturt were never in the game and on that performance I have no idea how they blew the Dogs away a couple of weeks ago.

Ben Kane was BOG for mine, closely followed by Cranston and Mills taking over where Rudolph left off last year against poor old Brant.

It was a quite weird with the western side of the ground empty and I don't believe that the clubs or the SANFL will be happy playing finals there in that state.

Had the ridiculous sight of Rubbers standing on a 3 step platform on the boundary ... surely the SACA could have come up with something temporary for the coaches or even accomodated them in the eastern stand.

Now for the Eagles next week for hopefully the first win this century at Woodville.
Dunno, I’m just an idiot.

Glenelg for premiers. Pity about some of their supporters on the hill. Even Glenelg supporters were embarassed by them in particular Gordon and his mate again. They look good Glenelg and Sturt look ordinary, how did they win against Centrals ? The Bays play a boring zone game though. But it works and they will win the Flag. Well make the GF as we know their GF history.

Not so great having them there though Baysman with all their AFL isms..... but I guess bums on seats (or should I say Bums on crows seat covers) is the important thing.

glenelg were just fantastic tonight, they an the ball well, used the link man and were prepared to put their bodies on the line. Sturt were just average to say the best. How we beat the dogs is interesting especially after the last 2 weeks. Norman was out coached big time.

A very important fotnight for Sturt to regroup and get there skills back on track, they couldnt hit a target so hopefully they can on the training track.

All week it felt as though we's lose this one, and badly!
I was all superstitious about it and didn't want to say anything in case the footy gods took exception to anything and decided to prove me right just to put me in my place.
Thanks to Dutchy for posting updates so I could read through the scores thread and get an idea of how the game unfolded. When I cannot even record the game, next best thing is to follow the game thread and gradually work your way to the final score.
Boo to Dutchy for starting a thread titled "Glenelg beat Sturt". It sort of makes the above exercise of meticulously going through the game thread, post by post to find out who won, pointless!
So now we have lost 4 games, to 2 sides only. It won't make September very good if this keeps up.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I thought Glenelg were very impressive. I expected Glenelg to be good, but with their lacklustre efforts against the lower sides, I wasn't expecting them to be as good as what they were. What I admired about Glenelg tonight was that they were hard at the ball, really applied the pressure around the packs, so often came out with the ball, plus they have a very strong contested marking team. For me I thought Glenelg could have won by a lot more, I certainly expected as much midway through the second term.

As for Sturt, they were very poor once again. That's two weeks straight they've gone from giants to absolute paupers. I don't understand how you can smash Centrals so comprehensively one week, but then be so incredibly off the mark the following fortnight against North Adelaide and Glenelg. Obviously its stupid to say Sturt has no talent and are pretenders, they played 9 games straight this year where they were anything from good to bloody amazing.

... but the wheels have certainly fallen off and like Centrals, they now have the bye to sort themselves out.

My thoughts on the future... well I think Sturt are setting themselves up for a possible slide that may result in another failed Elimination Final, which would be a disaster of a season. For Glenelg, they're good and certainly the No.1 challenger to the Doggies. Can they beat the Doggies on their current form, in my mind, no, just don't look like they put in a concerted effort for four quarters. Even tonight, they could have buried Sturt, but really, probably took it a bit easy in the second half.

They'll need to get past that, otherwise it'll be 2008 all over again...

Anyway, winners are grinners and Glenelg more than deserved the accolades tonight.

As for the crowd, a good crowd at what is quickly becoming a sh**house oval. Knocking down that stand, geez, only the SACA could decide to do something so outrageously stupid. Bunch of whackers...

It's the Mickan man. He has a brain shaped like a football and knows all its molecular properties right down to the last atom. Moreover, he has the ability to use his eyes to burn holes in people who fail to follow instructions. A finer coach to get outcoached by Norman will not find.
