bloody crazy, means people will get slugged a AFL charge to go watch there SANFL team play. Curtain raisers should be left for the associated teams to play as in junior leagues or the country leagues.

No interest in the AFL so personally not keen on it.

To me it sounds like a desperate bid by the AFL clubs to get crowds up and more interest in it. (plus get more $$$$'s)

Just leave us alone please in our grassroots football ....just the way I like it :)

PLUS - Would Crows supporters know what SANFL footy is?????
Is out of change.....thanks Cambridge Clarrie!!!

Nothing to be gained from a diehard SANFL supporters point of view and would be surprised if all SANFL clubs were in favour of this.
I used to hate the way Crows supporters would meander their way to their seats whilst the game was on and then treat the game as if they were watching mini league.
My initial thought is that i wouldn't bother going - and I haven't missed a game so far this season.

A load of crap:

They have done this before and it’s failed!

What happens to those SANFL clubs members with season tickets, does your membership cover you entry into the game, Or do you have to pay because it’s the GAYFL!

What happens when it a sellout:  Ill bet our memberships don’t cover that, then we miss out Altogether!

I myself dont want to watch the Cows or worse still Port!

Totally sucks!!

I'd be extremely p1ssed off if this goes ahead. It has failed before and will fail again. I would be ropeable if i had to pay AFL prices to go and watch especially as i would leave as soon as the SANFL game finished. Stupid, stupid idea that only adversely affects the die hard SANFL fans. As if the vast majority of the Crows fans would have the slightest interest in the game beforehand. Even most of the Port fans wouldn't give a stuff unless it was the Magpies playing.

Not hard to stand up out of your seat and leave the stadium once the SANFL game is over.

Being an AFL goer, I reckon its great. Means ill get there earlier than usual and watch the whole curtain raiser.

Im sure there will be some seperate prices organised.

Agree HD about fans walking to their seats. Also, these days the curtain-raisers seem to have to finish so much before the AFL games start, so it's not as though people would sit and watch the last 1/4 because the AFL game would start ten minutes later like a league-reserves game does.

I do think it is good from one point of view and that is I believe every SANFL club deserves the opportunity to play on Footy Park at least once during the year because that is where they'll be playing the GF. Not necessarily saying curtain-raiers are the way to go, but obviously an option.

it will be good for the Afl Club and the SANFL clubs involved, the supporters might not like it but better for clubs in the long run

How exactly will it be good for the AFL clubs or the SANFL clubs? It certainly isn't good for the supporters who go week in week out to see their SANFL sides and at the end of the day alienating those people is not going to be good for the SANFL clubs in the long term as you suggest. If this happens it is a joke. A formula that has been proven to fail in the past being repeated is not very smart but those who are making the decisions are clearly a little dim.

I could handle if it was only one or two games and my Eagles season ticket got me into the AFL game without having to pay any extra.

Generally I think it is a stupid idea.

Under 18 games would be a good option as curtain raisers, but not league.

I remember this happened about 10 years ago or probably more, why bring it back?

You have no curtain raisers at Docklands or MCG, if the SANFL want to play games it should be for country, amatuer league or junior sides.

Who suggested it was going to happen? Was it just a buffoon calling up or was it semi serious? God I hope it doesn't happen. My interest in the AFL extends to my Dream Team and absolutely nothing after that. Never the twain...
