Doesn't make sense (on recent form) but I think I follow the logic!

One thing Sturt do have in their favour is that four of their players had a game in the wet last weekend in Perth. Believe me, it was wet and windy. Only one Norwood player did the same.

I know where you're coming from tho Bayman - I guess there could also be an argument that 4 Sturt guys made a long trip last weekend and AFL tipsters are often inclined to pick against a Melbourne team returning from a long trip east or west.

At the end of the day, I guess we have to discount what happened last weekend and just go to the form guide... :(

sturt = no good in wet
norwood = no good at all, but have beaten sturt in wet games including at norwood oval last year ;)

not only that, the Legs will be desperate to atone for the last effort and to try to resurrect their season.

the legs always pose a threat and this is going to be a tough game...we suck in the wet and the legs do well in those conditions so praying for a dry night.

The forecast says zero% chance of rain, but I don't think weather will be a factor.
This game could see a scoreline blowout for either club. Just depends on which Norwood team
turns up. GOLD or GARBAGE, WINNERS or SINNERS, PREMIERSHIP or PRETENDERS, JEKYL or HYDE.
:-??
After the atrocious behaviour of some 'supporters' last game and the justified criticisms of
many others, there would have been much soul searching in Leggyland during the last 2 weeks.
ALL club personnel are sitting on rockets. I just get the feeling that this is the make or break
game for Norwood. If they lose this one, after all the introspection, I think we could be waving
goodbye to more than just the 2009 season.
:(
During the 70's & 80's when backs were against the wall, we could march down The Parade with
smug confidence. Friday night will test whether 'the right stuff' still lives off Woods Street.
My heart still says Norwood by plenty !
;)
My head doesn't want to think about the alternative.

Whilst I reckon Sturt haven't played their best footy in the wet in recent years, I wouldn't necessarily accept that would continue to be the case ... Under new direction with a bunch of lads that have been through successful under grades together, the wet-weather syndrome could well be a thing of the past.

Whereas, Norwood's night footy form is obviously still a major achilles heel :(

I would expect more fight shown by the home side this week, but to get over the line I reckon it would most likely require a focal point to put a few away on the night and noone at Norwood (bar Vlats, Jericho or Juniper on rare occasion) has shown an ability to really stand up near goal.

Your sensitive empathy is most touching Jimmy.
Is it pretty safe to say you don't post from another PC as Sturtpeter ?

In last weeks 'Injury Update', Jamie Vlatko was listed as 1-2 weeks with a hamstring injury. Can anyone shed some light on that for me? And if this is the case, who will kick Norwood's goals?

I am very wary of a wounded beast and I believe Norwood will come out breathing fire. That being said, if Sturt bring their 'A' game on Friday night, I can see us getting the two premiership points with relative comfort.

Might not be wet but could be a bit of dew about the place.
Maybe Sturt in a tight one, currently Norwood's attack should struggle against a tight Sturt defence which is playing very well together. you would think if Sturt get on top in the midfield that would be it for Norwood

Sturt's defence is awesome. Norwood needs to find more avenues to attack.

Last year Sturt won 3 out of four, their only loss being at Coopers in shocking conditions.

Expect Norwood to come out with all guns blazing. Their Season is on the line and a wounded Redleg is dangerous.

Sturt would love to consolidate their position in the top 3 with the Bays having the bye this Round.

I expect Norwood to be highly competitive but despite home-ground advantage, Sturt by a couple of goals.

sturt have the potential to blow Norwood away, and after watching the game they played against the bays I doubt the legs can do it.They were insipid for the best part of the game and should have lost by a crap load more than they did!
I have watched south play plenty of crud footy this season but Norwood were something else!
Sturt by a truckload!!

I really don't know how anyone can choose Norwood with any confidence. My bias aside as a Sturt supporter, Norwood just haven't really performed that well this season. Considering they were touted as one of the sides to overhaul Sturt and push for the top three, I've found their performances pretty woeful. I'd be disappointed if Sturt didn't win comfortably on Friday night. If its dry, then I'll be hoping for a win that keeps our percentage where it is now...

Always enjoy games at Coopers. win, lose or draw there is always a great atmosphere, plenty of banter with the Norwood faithful and GREAT BEER!
Sturts form would suggest we should win by quite a bit but i am worried about this game mainly due to Norwood having so much to play for.
Sturt by 13 pts in a tight tussle.

Local information I picked up from players' relatives and friends suggests Bassett may be about as popular as Hill with the players, and has a similar approach.
Norwood may need to look a little wider.
