The SANFL should just skip to the Grand Final and play Central vs South ;)

The only thing stopping Central is about 10 ACL injuries to 10 different key players.

A long way to go yet mate, probably the best start to a season for us for awhile, but still to early to tell yet.

Despite yesterdays beating I still believe in our chances of being there when the whips are cracking* in Sept/Oct (cue Punky for an inane reference to "whips" and "Glenelg") ;)

In May last year people on here were calling us dead certs for the flag and in June last year (following a 14 goal flogging - gee 14 goals, Ive heard that before this weekend) they were writing the Dogs off.

So a long way to go yet but the Dogs are deserved favourites ATM...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I'm not convinced on Centrals just yet. Things can change real quickly.

Yep, another premiership to Central!

The question is, who will lose by 10 goals in the GF! :D

From memory the Dogs have been late starters in recent seasons. Maybe they'll peak too early this year and fade towards the end of the season.

I know, it won't happen. :(

I think the dogs are far from their best at the moment. Far from settled on what the best 21 is, let alone finding out where some players might end up playing, some of the skills are down and I'm sure the fitness level will be improved in the last 4-6 weeks of the minor round if we're comfortably in the finals.

Sure, we're going a bit overboard but the form of some of the sides that were supposed to threaten seems patchy and we've just towelled the side with the most to prove after last season. We know as well as anyone that flags aren't won early in the season, but to be running as effectively as we are with so many areas to improve while those around seem to be fumbling about just makes it very hard to not think we've another golden opportunity staring us in the face this season. The professionalism of the club will dictate how well we manage that but I'm sure Kris, Roy, his assistants and all the senior players out there will handle it well.

Unfortunately I agree with everything Grahaml posted but I pose the question -Is Centrals actually travelling too well for this time of the Season, allowing hopefully for complacency to creep into their game. [-o< [-o<

-Is this the Dogs best start to a season this decade ????????

Definately do not want to peak now but the dogs have 5hite loads of improvement left in them. Schell is easing his way back from injury and will only get better as the year goes on. Callinan has only been playing at around 60%, now he is injured but watch out once he hits form. IMHO two of our most important players are injured in Hayes and Cochrane. Both these lads play a position that i think we slightly lack depth and are the heart and soul of the backline. Expect improvement out of Hardy as the year goes on and he knows what to expect up against his half forward opposition.

but yes Premierships are not won on ANZAC Day.

Nope. We weren't that great in 06 IIRC.
Had enough wins but struggled through the minor round before winning the qualifying and second semi against the tipsters' expectations.
The Eagles were definitely the better side all season.
