The SANFL ... "investigate"??? :)

If Glenelg actually go to them and admit to it, they may actually do something about it, but in the absence of that occurance, they wouldn't know a salary cheat from a lump of butter.

The SANFL's investigative method: They front the club and ask if they have cheated the salary cap. If the club says "no", that's pretty much all they can do about it.

Boring...nothing in it

And Scott if your are trying to make something out of nothing, try getting the FACTS right

The Tigers would argue that they covered the former North Melbourne rookie in their salary cap because Grima and Glenelg player Matthew Bode, who retired from the AFL after 2007, were their only "star" additions last year.

T Grima has never ever been at the Roos  more shoddy journalism....there aint many chances in that article to get facts right, but when there was he stuffed it up...

Nah Dutchy let the SANFL investigate us properly then it will put the unfounded rumours about Todd's legitamate employment and his playing contract with us to bed once and for all.

The only thing we have to hide at Glenelg are the skeletons of a few ex-coaches.... ;)

Could be a very interesting situtaion for all concerned. The CEO of the Bays at the time of the alleged breach is now responsible for the administration of the competition as a SANFL General Manager....

And Norwood players taking pay cuts because of administration incompetence - how does that work?

About fifteen players did so no salary cap issues at Norwood in 2009.

Can Grima be de-registered if he's found to have taken illegal cash payments when signing?

HA HA HA! People in glass houses etc etc.

I believe I mentioned *cough Todd Grima cough* the other day and was shouted down by all of the Glenelg supporters on here. Sounds to me like the legless Leggy is onto something here...

Just a thug and one who's got you in the cacky *cough huge fine and deregistration cough* oh well, live by the sword...

You have nothing to worry about Glenelg just dont do what Norwood did and tell the truth.....lie like the rest and you will be fine !
Why would'nt a club go over the AFL imposed salary cap and treat this ridiculous figure with the contempt it deserves.
How dare the AFL try and run our League too while their competion is slowly dying of over officiating and softness. When will the first girl make her debut in the AFL...no offence to women intended.
The more people I talk to the more I hear who dont watch AFL any more in person or on TV.

Legless after the General manager of State League Football points the SANFL Salary cap investigator to where all the T Grima files are located at Glenelg (I mean the AFL want the SANFL to clamp down on Salary Cap payments so here is a perfect opportnity for the SANFL to use inside information to "be seen as proactive") and finds nothing I'm sure you'll come back on here an apologise.

DC ain't coming back so he owes us nothing.

As stated in todays papaer we've already had a spot audit on the T Grima recruitment and contract, nothing was found last year and nothing will be found again...

Norwood owned up to their cap issues and were fined and had recruiting sanctions, I pity the club that's found guilty of rorting the cap without confessing. Now that'll be a whopper penalty.

Let's hope for the Tiger army that everything's above board with Mr. Grima.

And no Dutchy, the real irony of this situation is CDFC fans complaining about someone signing for another club thanks to brown paper bags. I think I'll need some of Legless Leggie's cough syrup.

At least Norwood are clear for 2009. :D

Glenelg didn't need brown paper bags to entice Todd Grima to Brighton Road. More than likely a few of the players took him down Jetty Road to show him the nightlife. Then they drove him to Elizabeth for a few laps of the shopping centre. The ink on the contract was dry by the time they'd returned to Brighton Road

well darren chandler said on abc radio today (paraphrasing) we will NOT have an investigation with just innuendo, all clubs know the rules etc & if any club has a complaint they have to forMALly complain, so until south or anyone else put in a forMAL complaint there will be NO INVESTIGATION, c'mon mr kavanagh put in a complaint & we'll see the EGG on your face
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

Ah you have got to love the warm relationship that exists between the safc and the bays.
Not that South really give a f-----g --ck what glenelg do but I really find the Hall issue quite interesting.
South have done their time for salary cap breeches and the board has more than once stated to the membership that they will never be involved in such an issue again. This year SOUTH have recruited young raw and inexperienced talent, hoping that in a few years time they will develop into quality players. Cochshell , who incidently through injury will now probably be absent for most of the season, being the exception.

Hall is a guy who played all his junior footy at South. Was picked up by the Power and played a few games for them while playing most of his footy at South ,where he won the league B&F a few years ago. He then decides to leave and go to WA with his girlfriend. South clear him to Subiaco free of charge wishing him all the best etc.
Now for whatever reason he has returned to Adelaide. South offer him a suitable package including an employment opportunity.
Glenelg have managed to secure his services a couple of days before the start of the season when most sanfl clubs ,obviously would have had their lists finalised perhaps 2 months ago.
Hall has played for Subiaco for the last 3 years, all premierships including last year where he was BOG in the GF- the guy is no slouch!
The bays have already secured the services of 2 ex AFL listed players in the off season,
Hall will make it 3..........

I have a confession to make, Ben Kavanagh is 100% right, Glenelg did lure Todd Grima to to Brighton Rd with a five figure sum...

Its called a job, Todd works in commercial real estate in the city.
