CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER ANNOUNCED
The Glenelg Football Club’s Board of Directors are pleased to announce the appointment of
Steven Barratt as Chief Executive Officer of Glenelg Football Club.

Steven Barratt is a former SANFL League Footballer and Coach with an extensive
background in the Finance sector. He has significant experience in business development,
marketing, cost control & finance management:

As Glenelg’s Chief Executive Officer, Steven will have a centralised focus on the sustainability
and growth of the Club both on and off the field. He will concentrate his efforts in generating
a strong community involvement with subsequent attention toward the introduction of lights
and ensuing night games to Gliderol Stadium @ Glenelg.

Glenelg Football Club President Gary Metcalf welcomed the new appointment
“We are delighted to have someone with Steven’s expertise come on board at the club.”
“With the uncertainty of the world financial situation as it is today we are very confident of
Steven’s ability to ensure we continue to be a strong, stable organisation and that he will take
the footy club forward into a secure and profitable future.” He said.
“Initially, Steven will need to familiarise himself with the Club in a short amount of time. With
the Season quickly approaching, we have a number of agendas we need to address.
Building relationships with key stakeholders, members, staff, Council and SANFL delegates
will be priorities as well as the future projects under review.” Gary concluded.

Former Senior Manager – Business Improvement with Savings & Loans Credit Union,
Steven’s involvement in strategic planning and development with a key focus on the
implementation of extensively planned, innovative strategies bring a wealth of expertise to the
Chief Executive Officer’s role.

An accomplished league player for North Adelaide, Steven was a member of the Roosters
1991 premiership team and had returned to North Adelaide to coach the Reserves side.
The Glenelg Football Club welcomes Steven Barratt to his new role as Chief Executive
Officer. Steven will commence his new role with Glenelg on Monday 2nd March, 2009.

The man is a joke. Worst thing that ever happened to the Unley Jets Football club was Steven Barrett. He is without doubt the worst coach i personally ever had.

He coached a completely winless year and was sacked from an ammo div 4 team.

should be an awesome ceo.

Well we haven't recruited him for his football nous, it is for his financial background and business innovation skills. Apples and rubbers have the footy side of things going pretty well but with room for a slight improvement.

Bit harsh on him UK IMHO, Ive never had anything to do with footy with him mind you but Ive dealt with him both profesionally and enjoyed a chat or two about footy with him and he came across to me as a top bloke.
Good on Glenelg for giving him a go I say.

sad what the SANFL has come to if Barratt is a CEO - let alone at Glenelg - NO CREDENTIALS

how do u base that magarey that he has no credentials

Former Senior Manager – Business Improvement with Savings & Loans Credit Union,
Steven’s involvement in strategic planning and development with a key focus on the
implementation of extensively planned, innovative strategies bring a wealth of expertise to the
Chief Executive Officer’s role.
i wonder if they did there due dilligence ...cos they may have missed one important factor though ...
