An interesting tit-bit in this column today regarding something I alluded to a few weeks ago about an SANFL player and his poor choice of recreation.

Look closely in the Forum titles directory for a hint.

FFS people it's in the paper. It's hardly a big secret. A player from an SANFL club has allegedly been in a gambling program. The SANFL club in question has allegedly been active in supporting this player and the column in the paper suggests that the only reason the club is doing so is because they employed him in a hotel with TAB facilities where he allegedly lost a considerable sum of money.

To be honest i can't see why anyone cares. It's not like anyone has been involved in anything illegal. A person has a problem. They are getting help for that. Why people feel the need to throw rumours around so the public can make judgements about the person in question without knowing all the facts is beyond me.

Any particular reason why a "rooster" is a bit "touchy" on the subject?? ;)

It's not like anyone has been involved in anything illegal

So stealing money from your employer is not illegal.
Not too sure who you work for but it is where I work and every other place of employment too!

I'm only frustrated with the media attempting to bring people down with no justification regardless of which club they play for (not that i am suggesting it's my club by the way). There would be plenty of people who are earning a lot more money than the alleged person here that don't get media coverage of their misdemeanour's. Just because someone plays football means the person deserves to be judged by people like this? So what if the person in question has problems with gambling. That does not make them a bad person. They have not committed a crime. It is so easy for people to jump on these sorts of things without considering how many worse things so many other people do that never gets mentioned.

PS - Any particular reason a "Cockeyed Chook" doesn't list his team?

Now what are you alleging? That's a big call mate and one i'd leave out of a public forum if i were you.
