rooster recruits 2009

Postby goraw » Sun Jan 11, 2009 1:06 am

1 daniel healey. has brought a new breathe of fresh air round the club it seems, and is keen as mustard to show his worth.time will tell but seems to have a level head approach.

2 ben schwarze, if he can get his injuries and more importantly head right ,could be the recruit of the year with his fierce desire .

3 cain ackland ,could also be a real bonus recruit, being around the traps, never finding a real home so to speak, could feel its his last chance, and give his all. (allways felt he could be anything , but in the shadow of a better ruckman) .he will be relied on as first choice and hopefully revell in the role.could be hero or villan

4 damon white , well what a bonus he is. very flexable full forward probably turned into CHB this coming season. massive fella who could gel a backline , loved by the fellas and will demand a good forward by any team. (great to see him still in the sanfl). with mcintyre, sporn, schubert as the experience , could cause headaches for opp teams with a blend of enthused players like delvins , grose n the like could be the start of something very exciting for the fellas.

only janurary but something to be excited about .

So if we can't talk about our team's prospects on here as well, why have an SANFL forum?

I do rate Cain Ackland as a ruckman & it wouldn't surprise me if he dominates the SANFL.
Maybe his reasons going to North Adelaide was they don't have a recognised ruckmen like Port do ( Mickheljon )
Cain seems to like the easy approach with no challenges ahead of him,

Im inclined to agree with you NM, I reckon a few ppl that have been ripping into Ackland could be unpleasantly surprised during the year.

I think that would have something to do with it, but i have heard Port offered him 50k and thought it was a done deal and then he signed with North for 60k.

not sure about the $$ but if he was offered slightly more than Port his decision was probably based on that, his friendship with Damon and his chance to be the lead ruckman at a club that will rely heavily on him to be a contender. I'm certainly happy to have Cain on board and hope he is 'able' to prove a few doubters wrong.

Personally I liked Goraw's post on the recruits via the roost better. I still think North will make atleast a couple more signings before the season begins.

In:
Nathan Brown (West Adelaide)
Luke McEntee (Returning from AFL- Hawthorn)
Djaran Whyman (North Melbourne)
Rory Sloane (Mini-draft via Adelaide)

what is your opinion on the other recruits ??
