RD 22 Eagles v Norwood Preview

Postby magpie in the 80's » Sun Aug 24, 2008 4:29 pm

Will the Eagles continue their charge to the final 5 or will Norwood end their chances?

Saw Norwood yesterday and a fortnight ago against Sturt :? :?

If they play the way they did against Sturt they'll win. If the Norwood which showed up yesterday plays that way again the Eagles'll smash them.

Norwood by 21 points.

You just listen to actual Norwood supporters MickyJ. They'll tell you you've got every chance.

Norwood red hot favourites? Not if we play like we did yesterday! :? We will win though because we haven't lost a televised match yet!

Put in perspective, we were coming of a bye, down a man (Duigan) early and playing a team with "nothing to lose". The %age doesn't really matter because of our draw so we only had to win, which we did.

Should be a cracker of a match!

Port's big win today means the Eagles will be eyeing Norwood's spot in the 5. Norwood just need one more win (either against the Eagles or Glenelg in the final round) and the Eagles must win their remaining two games (against Norwood and Port) and hope the bays beat Norwood in the final round.

Geddes would have to be doubtful, with his leg iced up for the last quarter yesterday. Fitzgerald would be the likely replacement. Vince and Salter starting for us are in the hands of their AFL clubs.

The last time the Eagles played Norwood was our worst game of the season. The Eagles have just got to keep this momentum going and who knows.

Can't the Eagles still take Port's spot if they win both games and Port lose both or is the percentage to great?

Would need to make up about 103 points in difference, so is possible. Norwood would be safe in the 5, even if they lose both games, if Glenelg beat Port this week or if Port beat the Eagles in Round 23.
