what a crazy game.
Only 4 goals in the 1st half. North kick 0 7 in the 2nd qtr, Port kick 8 1 in the third. Set up a cracking last qtr though.
Unlucky North, just can't say it........Port well done. Both sides carrying injuries by the end.

Horrible game of footy. Just horrible. Really the players from both sides should have just walked off after the 1st quarter to save the game of Australian Rules Football any further embarrassment. How these guys have reached the level they have yet put in such a woeful display is beyond me. It wasn't lack of effort from either side it was just simply the fact that the standard of football was embarrassingly poor. Cringe worthy.

The radio said that the wind was a real factor, but I noticed that the ressies managed 30 goals. Did the wind get up after the ressie game?
The last qtr was pretty good to listen to. Agree though, the first half was not good listening (can imagine how bad it must have been to watch), and the 3rd qtr was awful to listen to as a Rooster.

Agreed except for a couple of exceptions like Alleway, the poor lad should be playing AFL or at least for Sturt or Glenelg instead of having to lower himself to the crap football that was on display today.

Not a goal was scored with the wind in the first half!

Alberton can play that way some times. If the breeze is from the south it can have little impact if the ball is run well into the wind.
Crowd today Wedgie?

Yep, Alleway obviously didn't read the script during the week. He took an awful game of football and ruined it by showing poise, toughness and class. Super player.

Breeze was from the North mate.

Its probably about time that Port got one back against North at Alberton as North seem to have had their number the last several times!

Considering that the South supporters even outnumber the Port supporters on the forum, I feel that it is at least my moral obligation to give you lot some curry when the opportunity presents itself, because if I dont who else will?

Several times?
Try the last 5 times before today at Alberton, and North had won the last 9 out of 11 v Port.
South would have celebratory reunions with that sort of record.

And no doubt we could run out onto the ground with one goal in mind much like North do in Grand Finals.

Ah good. A debate breaking out between North and South. At least it detracts from the debacle at Alberton today. Keep it up fella's. The less said abouot Port v North today, the better

South - Grand Finals. There's three words you don't see in the same sentence too often.

You are aware that South set the trend only kicking 1 goal in the 1900 GF against North?
Whoopsee!
(People really should study their history before making silly comments)
Anyway, the highlight of the day:

From what I heard on LIFE Port played most of the last quarter with no bench players and J.Clayton at FF with a shoulder injury. Great win by the boys today.. Just glad we can finally walk away with a win in a close game. Makes for a cracker next week against the Eagles.
