Another game, another loss. Sigh.

Dissapointing to be in front at half time and lose.

Dunno about chokers... Close all day and Glenelg won the game cos they had a strong third quarter. Not the worst possible result for a team in 8th position versus a team on top with a very nice winning streak.

I honestly thought we would get belted today from looking at the lineups on paper

port dominated the first quarter & glenelg dominated the next three, had we kicked straight it would've been a 10 goal win, i thought the move of murphy onto clayton was pivotal, by the glenelg stats clayton had (from memory) 22 'touches' in the first half & 9 in the 2nd half

goalscorers in budget order
glenelg
backwell 1
fisher 1
block 1
bode 1
allen 1
hinge 1
liebelt 1
murphy 1
duldig 3
kirkby 2
mcconnell 2

port
ah chee 1
clayton 2
rugolo 1
surjen 1
hargreaves 1
mieklejohn 2
clinch 2
waterhouse 3
taylor 1

scores

glenelg 3.1.19 5.11.41 11.16.82 15.21.111

port 4.4.28 9.6.60 10.7.67 14.9.93

Did Glenelg seem to struggle with Grima out the side, and do they come back to the pack a little with out him? How long is he expected to be missing for? Knee injuries can definatly be difficult to come back from.

i wouldn't have thought we struggled without him, it was bad kicking as for todds return i asked him after the game & he said he'll be right for centrals which is our next match

A dog ran onto the ground just as the 2nd qtr was about to start.
Waterhouse tried, the boundary umpire tried + others tried to catch it !
If there was a count perhaps the PA score of 4-4 would have been wiped out !

PS
Who is the Ken player Timmy Ginever was shouting about at the 3/4 time huddle .... :?: [-X

Cant wait for that, Grima at Elizabeth Oval, would he command a spot straight back in the league side, especially considering this game will be played at a very high intensity.

Cmon U Dogs

full marks to port, they never gave it away, our 3rd qtr into the breeze won us the game after our 2nd qutr effort of 2-10 might have put us out of it. some sloppy skills by our boys today but a win is a win as they say and its nice to take home the points. i thought murphy was superb for us along with dogger who was our only focal point in the first half. macca did his bit with 2 clutch goals along with hingey and that was the ball game. GO YOU TIGES!!!!!!!

Was a big crowd wasn't it...keen to see what the final number was. Pleased to see the Bays get up in the end, to continue their good record in big holiday matches...

Port showed today that there isn't a great deal between top and bottom (or 2nd bottom) if you play with some good intensity and endeavour. While Port were good, I thought the Bays skills were terrible. Kicking to the forwards ALL day was ordinary.

LOL@Macca giving the Snouts the love after his last quarter sealer...we love ya Macca.

Hmmm...I didn't think Kirkby was all that good for us today...so many times the ball came in and he was left flat-footed...as a key tall for us, he should be trying to get up into the contests, to at least bring the ball to ground. Still, he may have done a job or something that I didn't see, but I would not have had him in the top 6 today.
