Watch out boys !!! I plan on taking the tipping comp more seriously this season. I might actually put my tips in all 23 rounds this season. Expect a big climb up the tipping ladder for eaglehaslanded.

How about a Final Premiership Ladder Tipping Competition?
Closest to the final ladder shall be judged the winner.
The method should be 8 points for a correct place and lose one point for every position you are shy of it. For example if somebody tipped West to finish bottom and then they finished bottom, then they'd get 9 points for West. But if West finished top then that tipster would get 0 points.
Or if they finished 8th the tipster would get 8 points etc.
A perfect ladder would earn the tipster 72 points (9 multiplied by 8 = 72).

The more comps the winner, we'll find donors for the major comps but for the minor comps we'll need fans to chip in.

I move we revert back to the old rules from footysa days for the BFC. This new comp is driving* punters away. Even the likes of the Rotund Being isn't joining in. We should sort this out now. Punky?

Don't know about that MK. The competition has hit some snags.
Firstly, being in the competition forum is like having your Cafe in the suburbs. On Footy SA we were on the main forum where everybody frequented, it was like being in the city where we could suck a few passersby in through the doors. The difference in the amount of "views" that occur in the tipping forum as compared to the SANFL forum is pretty large. I think we missed the passing traffic in 2007.
Secondly, Punky decided that he needed to spend more time nuking termites and less time calculating who came closer to the Bun n stumps, leaving me to carry the load.

I think it can go back to the old system, but I never intended to do it alone. Last year I asked for volunteers but none stepped forth. If we could rotate the comp through about 4 threadmasters so one person only had to do it once a month then it would be fine. But going through everybody's posts and figuring out muffin stumps for every game is very time consuming.
Maybe you could help out MK? Then perhaps we could lure Punky away from gassing bright eyed furry little animals and he could fill in for once a month.
What do you say?

Maybe we should get a show of hands. If the moderators would let me and not move the thing, I'll stick something up* in the main forum.

How about points for where the team is on the ladder before the round starts.
EG if West are 9th play Central who are 1st and you pick West and West win you get 9 points.
If the team you pick win are 6th, you get 6 points. Last year the Eagles players did this with the AFL games. Makes you pick the underdogs.
