I don't think those odds are too far off the mark to be honest.

Sturt should probably be grouped with North & WWT, with CDFC as outright favourite. I would swap West with South too.

Central 3.00
Sturt 5.00
North 5.00
WWT 5.00
Glenelg 8.00
Port 15.00
Norwood 15.00
West 20.00
South 30.00

Odds are based on the amount of money punters have put down. Is that right? I'm no expert at punting.

Eg if 10 people have backed Central at $10 each, and 1 person has backed Sturt at $100, then the Central and Sturt odds are the same?
Basically 1 or 2 optimistic people may have backed Sturt at a high amount before the odds changed.

Sheesh. Recruit Ian Perrie and people start talking premierships...oh dear...think Sturt might be in for a rude awakening if they start believing these odds.

not quite HBT.
If Central were $10 & someone placed $1,000 on them, they would tighten- how much is anybodies guess.
It depends on the Bookie's liabilities across the board.
Market pressure can influence prices- ie a steady flow of money, or "smart money" will ensure odds are shortened.

I can see why Centrals would be top, yet sooner or later someone is going to come along and challenge them for it. Sturt were the most tipped to win the spoon last season by posters on here, yet became easily the most improved side in the competition, so its no unreasonable that they would be rated a chance to improve again this season and take it up a level, they have recruited quite well, so have every chance of winning it.

I am surprised however that they rate Westies the worst chance of improvement, I think that they may well emulate Sturt of last year and have quite the rise up the ladder this season!
