If players want to sign contracts solely based on the money on offer then good on them.

I reckon Eddy will be almost as good as Jay Cheep.

Queue discussions on dud recruits for the 15th time.

Agree Cheep was disappointing with the intel on him before he signed.
Don't know much on Eddy, but if he played in an AFL GF he must be rated, suspect with injuries perhaps from what I have read?

Norwood along with a few other clubs were after Eddy, but given his friendship with Raymond and a few others at Oval Ave, the Eagles were always considered the favourites.

I'm not aware of us chasing this lad the Bulldogs are set to sign .. I believe the KPP we most wanted we are a good shot at landing

From the Sturt FC

"The Sturt Football Club is very pleased to announce the signing of two experienced SANFL players, Ben Kane and Luke Panozzo.

Both Ben and Luke are highly skilled players who will compliment and strengthen our league list and provide additional leadership to our young and developing playingd.

We welcome both Ben and Luke to the club and look forward to their contribution to our success in 2012.

Ben and Luke join other recent additions to the squad including Paul Cahill, a Sturt junior recruited from St Kilda, Brendan Littler, from Norwood and Daniel Boyle from Wangaratta.

The club's focus has been on identifying players with high skill levels, competitiveness and superior leadership qualities. We feel that all six new players meet these criteria.

The playing group under new Coach Seamus Maloney has been training hard and enthusiastically in preparation for the 2012 season. They are determined to play finals football next year.

If you have not already done so, renew membership now and continue your support as we strive to get back into Premiership contention"

So would Sturt now have one of the older lists in the comp, esp if Chambo returns?

Happy the way the club has handled the Norman sacking and pre season recruiting this off season. I fear another wooden spoon would cripple the club financially beyond repair, surely with a few additions, new coach and Jnr development we can improve considerably on last year.

Will be interesting to see in what positional role Luke Panozzo is used by the Double Blues?

Obviously finished out his career in the 2's with the Bays and was playing some good football as a small forward as he had done in a pinch hitting role for Glenelg at senior level, briefly, in the past.

Yeah, I actually think he is very dangerous as a small forward as he has good finishing skills and pace to burn.

$25K at least isn't it?

Would be interesting to know what Sturt will pay Ben in comparison to what he was on at The Bays?
