North v an unnamed team representing the AFC.
Last years grand finalists playing the two AFL reserves teams ..... should be playing the two bottom sides and work their way up !

Wrong thread I think, SDK...

Former Norwood player Ben Speight - delisted by the Kangaroos this year - has signed on with alignment club Werribee so wont be returning to the SANFL in 2014...

It will be great to have another Gilby at the club.

It will, although I'm not sure this one will be as good as the other one? ;)

Glenelg have signed 2013 Morrish Medalist and leading goal kicker Josh Scott from the Gippsland Power.

Real good signing

I know they needed to be but they have been active in recruiting Glenelg.

Disappointing to see Zac Fitzgerald leave, a very talented player and tremendous kick, wasn't given enough opportunities and time to settle in. Indications are that he will play for RSMU.
Saw all of Lachlan Carey's games for the Eagles, attitude was great and always gave 110% effort. Every now and then made a killer skill error. In my opinion he was improving, will be missed for depth.
Nick Joyce is taking time off from football.
All three recruits - Wundke, Boyd and Templeton have been training.

Jimmy Allan is very distraught at way he was treated by the Roosters and was dudded by one of his best mates there. Disillusioned with baseless rumours and considering playing country or local football. Not a happy fellow at the moment.

How many games do Norwood expect Jimmy to play in 2014? Older players coming back usually get soft tissue injuries and his game is all about running away into open spaces and picking up Magarey medal votes, so his hammies get more stress than most.

I'd assume most.
He runs into space to get Magarey votes ? Really ?

Try running with him then . You never know , he might be satisfied with just the 1 or 2 votes .

Only reason South did not finish 2013 in top 3 like many predicted was Fuller from what I understand. So having only lost one player of note and loosing less AFL players than most other clubs, they should be certainty's to finish 2014 in top 3 - no recruiting needed

Hartigan and Wundke not been replaced? Pretty handy bookends.

Look forward to reading this in the Confirmed Thread.

Haren, Sawford sign on

PROMISING youngsters Ben Haren and Ben Sawford have signed contracts with Port Adelaide and will form part of the club's SANFL League player pool in the 2014 season.

Both played throughout 2013 in the club's Reserves team, but earned promotion to the League side midway through the year.

South have recruited 196cm Boyd from Victoria he should hopefully replace Hartigan and with Darcy Hourigan not getting AFL listed I would expect him to play league all next year.

Rare for an SA player to go across to the VFL (apart from those drafted to the AFL, of course).
