He will be taken with the PSD pick, not a rookie spot....

Rohde said they were looking to rookie, but Essendon's interest has forced their hand into taking him earlier.

Very class footballer, stoked we are going to keep him

From what I am hearing you are gunna need him. Centrals from all accounts are relying on there juniors for 2013, not much on the recruiting front.

They wouldnt want to rely too much on their juniors, they have a few good prospects out there but as a whole their junior sides are very ordinary. Went a couple of times to watch a mate in their U18's and they were thrashed everytime. They lost a heap of games by around the 100 point mark

An old hobby horse of mine but apart from Sydney and Brisbane no rookie should be allowed to be taken from interstate. They pay them nothing, give them no commitment and stuff up their young lives.
If an interstate kid is good enough pick him in the first draft.
Victorians pick Victorian rookies
South Australia pick SA rookies
West Aust pick WA rookies
Let the kids live and develop with their family and friends and stop treating them like meat ! An AFL that had player welfare as number one would bring in this rule. An effective Players Association/Union whatever you call it would insist on it !

Biggest load of bollocks I've heard on this site for awhile. They would all love the opportunity, especially after the disappointment of not getting selected in the main draft.

Agree, give me a couple of years of carp pay at the chance I might get an AFL gig I would take it every day of the week.

To be honest most of these kids if not rookie listed would be on less pay doing casual work while trying to juggle uni and sanfl commitments/ammos for the money and popping pills and binge drinking on the weekend.

AFL clubs understand they need a life after football and cater for their needs pretty well.

Big deal, that's because the good ones are at least playing reserves and we don't care about Under 18 premierships or that other champion club BS.

By recruiting rookies only from the home state all the good would still apply without the down side of seperating young kids from their friends and family for no real asssurance og getting on an AFL list and being paid shit.

Nope. Holdens will still be the major sponsor (and will be in 20 years time!).

Someone I know has finally decided to become a sponsor in 2013 so he can hang out at the prematch presidents luncheon with w***ers such as Centurion...
