I couldn't work out tonights game and full credit goes to Jars as everytime Norwood broke free from the packs (which seemed more times than not) they had free players galore, whenever we broke out of packs rarely we seemed to kick to 1 against 2. We seemed to get beaten in a lot of 50/50 balls yet still won the game fairly comfortably in the end.
And that was with only 1 I/C player for the whole night, full marks to Jars, he really pulled one out of the hat and I owe him big time.

Was he ever. Jackman was prostrate on the concrete in the crowd after Campbell put him in that position. Campbell was guilty of similar behaviour throughout the night that really isn't desirable and a poor reflection on him when he is clearly talented enough skills wise not to have to get distracted by other pursuits.

Geez mate, Norwood were the favourites, had 2 more bench players, couldn't win the game and your only comment on the game is about when 2 players went flying over the fence which didn't even warrant a freek kick from a biased point of view?
I expected better.

lol @ angry, he was probably prostrate as he fainted when he saw what some of the Norwood supporters in the crowd looked like tonight.
Lucky for him he didn't jump the fence in Coopers Corner, Im sure I spent 15 minutes explaining to one Norwood freak the difference between the English Rugby Union top I was wearing and what Wales wear.

News from pressos at North tonight:

Club gave Alleway best, Ladhams 2nd best and Sporn 3rd best.
Chris Scott was there and all indications are he might be playing for us next year as our medicos are looking after him already.

Here's one for Spelly, when was the last time North lost under lights at Norwood Oval and what is the record under lights since night footy started at Norwood?
I can remember losing a day game their in 2003 but reckon we won a night game there in Rd 23 of either 2001 or 2002 to get us off bottom spot despite Norwood being in the finals (Rocky Roberts was coach then).
If Norwood were smart they might want to make games against North during the day perhaps?

I barrack for Norwood
I backed North Adelaide when the weather was dry
I feel that Norwood was on the wrong end of several 50/50 umpiring decisions.
North deserved the win however after playing with 19 men
Best North LADHAMS/ ALLEWAY
Worst for North BAMFORD who just had an off night with uncharacteristic poor disposals
Best Norwood Robbie DEJONG who played an outstanding game in ruck and up forward as well.
This guy is potentially the best big man playing in the SANFL
When DEJONG fires he is unstoppable
When he is off he goes missingand is a fizzer.

This was an entertaining game of footy, which I enjoyed
Norwood are 1-3 this year but are definitely playing a good brand of footy
and will improve in the long term if they continue playing this way.
North did a great job to win after the interchange shamozzle
That interchange is taking a bashing this week for different reasons....

No way was Bamford our worst. He did OK. There were a couple that had quite bad games but there is no point in me naming them here. Saying Bamford was our worst would be like saying Shane Watson should be in the Australian cricket team

I thought Tim Martin and Brett O'Hara were clealry our worst. I got to the game at about the 10 minute mark of the first quarter and didn't see them do one thing all game!

BAMFORD turned over the ball on several occasions, fortunately his team still won
We all know his skills are usually excellent.
The 5AA commentary team was confused with the umpiring as well, and it was usually
the Redlegs who were crucified.

They were covering the ST Kilda v Carlton game when I was on the way to the ground, no wonder they were confused!

Nah mate, stick with 5AA, I think Rex Hunt has more idea than the 5RPH boys when it comes to SANFL at times!

This comment from one person who watched the game live and listened to the game on RPH:

Like last week it was quite fascinating listening to the 5 RPH announcers and being there to watch the game which seemed to happen on a different wavelength to that described on radio eg this week

- they kept calling Joel Cambell "Motlop" for most of the first quarter (a real Smithfields clash/clanger!) - at least with Gilly out we dont have to put up with the tedious "wild man from Borneo" every two minutes
- it was obvious that early in the first we only had one on the interchange bench yet they didnt call it I think till somewhere near half-time (O'Hara and Martin were in their suits at the quarter time break and at the huddle)
- Alleway played really well but just didnt seem to get called
- Jimmy Allen and Dean Howard did some great pack work in and under but were not called much
- Weatherly had to come down the ground a fair bit to add some height and put in a fair effort - not called
- great rucking from Wakelin not recognised by the commentators
- there seemed to be a fair bit of sympathy for Norwood (underdogs?) by the commentary team (probably biased on my part!!!!)
- a lot of Norwood's shots were from a fair way out hence the points
- while Luke Ivens got to a fair few contests and played well he turned it over a fair bit as well
- it was a real gutsy effort 19 V 22 players
- great efforts by Cubillo, Gallman and Cunningham but some really gutsy efforts by Schubert and Ivens at times cutting across packs to help them out (we were really undersized in the backhalf particularly when Schubert had to take a stint in ruck to give Wakelin a rest.
-Younie played in the backlines and really kept it together - some great passing/p;ays by him to set up attacks from the back
- while all really put in Ladhams, Alleway, Howard, Allen, Banger, Sporn deserve mention as wel

Also mal, weird call as I also heard from someone that listened to the call tonight that they thought RPH said the umpires favoured Norwood!

You'd be one of the many North supporters who made themselves known at the 25 minute mark of the last quarter then.
I'd accept that from an Eagles or Centrals supporter but from you? Pfft.

Well played North. Too good on the night and a salutary lesson on where Norwood sit in the SANFL scheme of things.

Norwood are moving into the Meat Market this week. After all we butchered this game....
