Shaw was decent today.
If you went on today's form, Whitelum struggled, as did Lange, but his two goals in the last are a reminder of how he can impact.
And did Barreau do enough?

Sturt may have picked up a couple of injuries.

Doyle went down with a knee unfortunate for him but have a few good players who can come in plus we should get Wilson back next week.

Wilson struggled in the ressies in Friday night, his fitness is a long way off. Doubt he will be selected.
Richards was very good, expect he will be promoted.

Reckon the staff and the boys will be keeping it pretty low key.

Come up against a side next week they haven't quite got the job done against on two occasions this season. Certainly stuck to the plan against the Power ressies and it paid dividends.

Four quarters down, 12 to go.

Am-Aiden Grace, how sweet the goals. :)

I'm sure our lads lifted a notch after hearing the chant in the major round after a long absence. Long may it echo loudly within them.

8 weeks ago Thommo asked his fitness team to structure a block based on us being at peak for the GF.
Huge call given where we were at the time, and it certainly doesn't mean we will even make it that far.
But the last 2 weeks have shown the benefit of that foresight, with the lads running over the top of a side made up of mainly AFL professionals.

The SANFL boys don't train all that much less, the myth should be dispelled.

Watched the replay. Shaw was okay. Dahms also dropped a couple of chest marks. Lange has to play. I think subject to injury they may go unchanged.

And Hoskin just keeps on playing very cool, calm & collected footy,
we'll miss him big time when he retires.
Our best pick up from Port?
Maybe a tie with Kyle Robert Jenner.

I’m not sure that’s something that has been thrown out there too much. The biggest difference is that SANFL players still have to work full time jobs away from footy whereas the AFL listed players don’t.

It's the time spent in recovery as the season progresses that has greatest impact.

For some, recovery is in the multi-million $ facility at Alberton or West Lakes, for others it's building houses, fences, or some other 40 hour per week activity that isn't ideal for presenting at your best the next game.

Absolutely it is, but to look at the sheer training loads you'll find SANFL players don't have that much less of a load. Talk to a former AFL player playing SANFL and they'll tell you.

So pure fitness, there wouldn't be that much of a difference as evidenced by many of the mid-season draftees going from state leagues to the AFL without doing any AFL preseason or much training at all. ( Narkle, for instance )

Haven't had an order from you yet either. Given you're a massive gongbeater, I can only imagine you owe a few.

Aren't they about our only two (apart from Des Drogemuller and Michael Wakelin)?

Probably should be in the History section, but in their inaugural year, Central had WIlf Huddleston, Keith Johns, Graeme Eime and Lynton Reeves, all of whom had previously played league at Port.
Keith Johns, who was the brother of the great Rex Johns was Central's leading goal scorer in 1964.

We had the bloke with the crook back,
also had North's coach?

Bowen Lockwood (?)
John Butcher (?)

Jacob Surjan the North coach but he was Port Power, mini draft to Centrals and then went to the Magpies?

Well done Dogs, good game of elimination footy, big brother at Alberton would have liked them to keep going for at least another week.
