I said that earlier. No club can afford to.

Can’t afford not to either sometimes
Let’s just see how many sponsors and members jump off now

That is also true.
If the club is worried about paying him out maybe they can pass the hat around at this weeks game. I’m sure they will get more than enough, I’ll even break my own boycott and attend to flip a few greenbacks in :)

Two wonderful servants of the club; hopefully a large number of fans will turn out on Saturday to pay their respects to these two fantastic clubmen.

One of the greats of the current era, and an integral element behind Norwood's success in recent seasons. His absence will leave a big hole at the Parade, a good ruckman these days is hard to find (apologies to Feargal Sharkey). Pity he didn't stay at North back in the day, would've loved to have kept him in red and white.

Yes, both great servants of Centrals and the comp, and the young Dogs' side will miss their match-day experience. Also, it means another on-field link to the great Centrals dynasty disappears, which only seems like yesterday, and sadly emphasises how fast time marches on.

With Baulderstone most likely pulling the pin I wouldn’t be surprised if we also had a chat to him

Question: if the SANFL salary cap is going to plummet next season as some predict, then how are clubs going to afford to recruit recently retired/cut AFL players like Jacobs?

Do you really need to ask that :)

Okay, I know how Norwood will pay for it. But what about the rest of us without uninterrupted access to brown paper bags? ;)

Give him a job at PAOC?
Or at a local finance company?

It hasnt been confirmed but if it happens you have to ask why ? No player payments , Clubs received Job Keeper and some cut staff .

Now is the perfect time to raise the cap if the AFL reduce lists . Its a big commitment playing SANFL so some reward must go the SANFL players way.

If it does get reduced , it is a disgrace and a short sighted view by the SANFL and its clubs.

Depends on the age of the player I think. Players cut from AFL lists who are still young enough to legitimately have a shot are being redrafted (ages 20-23) and still have dreams to do so will come back to the SANFL I think because they need to play in a strong State league competition to put their name forward to recruiters. Its those players aged 24+ who may be harder to lure back as their AFL dream is dead and they'd probably seek a footy competition that would pay them most $$ whether that is country footy or whatever.
