I don't get the maths behind setting a book, but I would have thought something like:

Eagles $2.50 - Minor Premiers, finals experience, added motivation perhaps (playing for a flag should probably be enough)
Sturt $3.00 - 1 win away from a GF
Adelaide $5.00 - Have to play in elimination mode the whole way, might struggle once their AFL side is bundled out
South $8.00 - History shows how few teams win the flag after losing the Quali

Say the crows afl side wins this week and loses the week after in Sydney. (Most likely scenario)......

So IF the afl side plays for 2 more weeks = ravens have full selection rights for 2 weeks = 1st semi/prelim.

Does this then mean the restrictions apply for the next week which is the GF and they will have a crap side?

If the win in sydney and get to a prelim in the AFL they could go thru the sanfl finals with full selection rights (both teams sill playing)

Is that correct?

Once the AFL side is out, it has an affect on who they can select for the SANFL side because qualification kicks in (as I understand it). However I don't think it would effect the team they had on the park this weekend, so there's probably no reason the 21 from Saturday shouldn't keep going other than injury.

As another poster put in a separate thread, the bigger issue for SANFL Crows is if their AFL side finishes this weekend, usually the whole club wants to go into holiday mode. Really need the Roos to win this weekend.

So Sloane & Smith in. CEY and 1 other out from the afl side....... They might get 1 extra back this week. The week after they might take 2 travelling emergencies to sydney

Sam Shaw is done for the season. The AFL injury page from last week has Keath missing a week and a few guys down for a test. As far as I know they all either played or should play this week. Based on that, could be one guy on the entire Adelaide list unavailable this week.

My understanding is qualification kicks in immediately once the AFL team is out.
T o use this week as an example they will name both their teams thursday night, presumably Seedsman will be in the Ravens. If the Crows lose Saturday night to North then Seedsman and anybody else who isnt qualified must be with drawn from the Ravens team on Sunday. I would then suggest the Ravens would be played out of position so they can lose and all go on a nice holiday together and all come back to training at the same time in November

I've got mail that Seedsman can play on Sunday no matter the result on Saturday. However once this round is complete and if they advance he can't play any further.

Re Seedsman, im sure the rule stipulates qualification comes in immediately?
So they are going to bend the rules again are they?
I really dont think the Crows will have any issue withdrawing Seedsman if the AFL loses, their focus will become losing the game against South rather than winning

Think it comes down to the detail in how the rule (or is it guidelines??) is written. If I was Seedsman though why would you want to play anyway? The First team is finished and if you play and win you can't play the next round anyway....

Pretty sure that In 2014 Port had some players that hadn't qualified for the SANFL GF, but they were able to be named as the Power were still alive in the Prelim. Once named, they were able to play regardless of the Power losing the day before.
