33 days ago Glenelg played North at Glenelg and drew a crowd of 4,414. Yesterday's crowd, which must have been a record for a Glenelg vs North crowd at the Bay was 1,568. Sure the first match was on a public holiday and yesterday's game was on television and the day had threatening weather, but the discrepancy is alarming. I have never seen more empty grandstands for a league game than at yesterday's game.

Bays have been getting thumped pretty hard of late, not just losing, thumped! Natural for fans to hide away at such times.

I have always said Glenelg have a great "fairweather" Sunday turn out for home games. I know a bucket load of people who go to the Bay on fine Sunday games who claim they support Glenelg but are not members and in the main don't wear any Glenelg colours. Also alot of neutrals (including myself when North are not playing) also pop down for a few Sunday games mainly for the social occasion and I think that does give a false impression of true supporter numbers. However having said that, winning form drags people out so the bay fans clearly voting with their feet re their current form.

A very poor turn out of North fans too considering we travel well in good numbers but a fear of very poor weather and the fact the game was live on the ABC were big factors for our turnout too.
