Just watched a bit of it on YouTube and laughed at how little had changed at West in twenty odd years, still going the knuckle when getting flogged in GFs. :D

Half way through the second quarter. There had been numerous incidents before that.

He was wrong, very wrong but I have often wondered what drove him to do that. I have heard unsubstantiated stories from North trainers.

Have heard the same, and saw it with my own eyes on the tele. LEH quit while you are behind.

Westies started it, North finished it. End of story.

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Want to talk thugs? How about when at Woodville Matthew Collins went down with a broken leg and Rhett Biglands came in dropped his knee straight into him and gave him a mouthful while clearly in agony on the ground. That was thuggery at it's finest.

"... the Roosters seem to have overlooked what was clearly the origin of the fights - a massive roundhouse right from North rover Steven Sims on West midfielder Mat Simpson. The belt, which was from behind and sent Simpson to hospital, was regarded as one of the most disgraceful acts in Sanfl history."

And that was written by the former West Adelaide under 19 captain.

I prefer to quote from the Advertiser of the Monday after the Grand Final which stated categorically that West Adelaide came out with the wrong attitude and will be blamed for most of the incidents. And from the Grand Final edition of the Footy Times which states that West Adelaide came out to knock North's blocks off and came out second best. And then there is Neville Roberts on the commentary who states about 5 minutes before the Sims incident, North have been very, very composed and disciplined in the face of some of the crudest tactics imaginable. And then there is Graeme Campbell's comment on the replay, West Adelaide have come out with the wrong tactic. They will be blamed for all of the fights.

Sims did the wrong thing was punished heavily, but to blame him for the carnage is like blaming the allies for World War 2.

Correct. It's there for all to see. Even West diehards can not defend the tactics used. Blatant.
And back to the Eagles game, there were 3000 plus people at Prospect on Saturday of which I doubt there were more than 200 Eagles fans. Unless there is some video of the game, to say otherwise ,that makes at least 2800 people who are going to have a sour taste for what at least one of the Eagle players did. It was pathetic and gutless. When G Thring went down it was dead set straight in front of us with an umpire STARING STRAIGHT AT IT. How that was not reportable is beyond me. If that was the AFL it would have been 2 fifties and a 3 game suspension :D
As for Salter, the way he played on Saturday will see him in an Eagles jumper for the rest of the season, so the return bout should be good down at Pecker Park

I thought there was at least 1000 Eagles fans with them dominating the crowd from the Cricket Club around to the the scoreboard but who gives a flying **** really. I thought it was actually one of their best travelling crowds I'd seen for a long time and good to see the game at Prospect had the comfortably biggest crowd of the weekend.

Agree Wedgie I was impressed with the number of Eagles fans who travelled, made it a great atmosphere. All wearing those pretty yellow hats, I assume they were a members giveaway ;)

I think I've worked it out - basically if a player from the opposition makes contact with one of your players they are a thug and a psychopath. However if your player makes contact with an opposition player it is an understandable act of natural justice for all perceived past indescretions.

Well done to North on Saturday's performance. Way too good for us when it mattered.

You've every right to be proud of your team's effort.

Perhaps go easy on the cheapshots about the size of the Eags crowd there on Saturday. I thought it was a good turnout by our supporters actually and one of the larger turnouts at Prospect for a while. Apologies if we didn't mingle enough in the grandstand or with your cheersquad.

Yes, and sometimes it's best not to mention any incidents at all. Cop it on the chins and move on.

What could possibly give you any impression the Eagles are from runners TSG? Give some decent explanation for this garbage?

i didnt expect one TSG, but i couldnt help pointing it out after Big Phil posted his link.

most of the eagles supporters that post on this site SS are front runners in that they only post if they are expecting a win, or more commonly, after they have a win. go back and check the North vs Eagles pre game thread and note the eagles supporters that posted there, and are unsurprisingly missing in the post game thread. yet check the post game thread from the eagles only win and it is a hive of activity for the bandwagoners

personally i rarely post in either the pre or post game threads, i only did here to highlight LEH's crap post.

Our supported base and crowds dont swing much due to form, it stays pretty low consistantly. Not sure you call that front running like many other clubs.

Adding to this i gather TSG was just referring to supporters only? i took it as playing group too, 2011 the under dogs got the chocies.

Rememeber what that was like TSG? I hope TSG is over the age of 22 as he would have missed it otherwise and been starved of success for life! :D

What a load of crap.
There are four Eagles posters in this thread you didn't post in the pre-game one. In the pre-game, Aerie who usually posts sense win or lose, and Mr Fuller who often posts a couple of days after a game.
Perhaps we should go back and look at the Norwood/North thread last year and compare it to the next week when the Eagles towelled up North.

Wrong way around mate. Post before, but not after. And then 90% of posts by Eagle supporters are about North being thugs, despite 2 of your players being suspended.
