Who knows, he might be a good fit and do a great job but I'm not very enthusiastic at this point.

All the hating because he's not a Port boy?

He's a Political Journalist so obviously not dumb.

He's been in the AFL system

And he's coached in his own right, quite successfully.

Unless on the inner sanctum, it's a bit rich to criticise a process we all know very little about

All the hating because he's not a Port boy? -Didn't actually say I disliked him.

He's a Political Journalist so obviously not dumb. - Obvious?

He's been in the AFL system - So was Matty Knights. For alot, lot longer......

And he's coached in his own right, quite successfully. - At reserves level a couple of years ago....before moving into the Canberra competition and to report on all things political. Not the move of a "career coach".

Unless on the inner sanctum, it's a bit rich to criticise a process we all know very little about - Agreed, but anyone willing to make honest comment on this, from a PAFC fan point of view would, IMO, have every right to be somewhat cynical.

Remember that Fos Williams wasn't a Port person and he made a fair fist of coaching the club. Who knows whether McGregor will be any good, but he has obviously impressed the inner sanctum and therefore has to be given a chance to prove himself.

Booney, do try and remember that Beenreal is the best Port supporter going around.

The rest of you are just playing catch up to his eternal magnificence.

Spot on beenreal its time all Port supporters & players embraced this decision & get behind Ken McGregor & show him their support, i'd hate to see what i saw a few years ago which really dissappointed me, that being alot of supporters & some players & hyreichy not get behind Matthew Knights because he was an outsider.
I think its a good thing Kens been given the job he's obviously presented himself well above others in his presentation & deserves the job.
I wish him well & he has my support.

Not really any of my business I know, but I tend to agree with you BR and NM .. There's an school streak in most Port people that always want ex-Port people in charge, but in this day and age every club should just want the best person for the job.

Time will tell in Kenny's case, as with many other relatively untried coaches over the years, but as NM has said the people in charge obviously thought he presented better than other candidates.
