If it gets to free-to-air at some stage, and Norwood are playing I may watch a match or two.

You mean you haven't changed your mind in the week since you last told us. Keep us up to date.

I had to buy a new laptop when the old one shit itself and luckilly I just got the last of W7 and even at a bargain price.
You may have noticed I am typing this on the new laptop .... sure you did.
No this is not off topic because I will get the scores from the Foxtell Cup on my laptop ;)

To keep this aside brief...

I have it under control now I've stripped all the commercial rubbish off the opening screen and pinned the stuff I really want handy to it.
Once you get past that first screen W8Pro works much the same as W7Pro, although not all programmes are compatible even in "compatibility mode".

Surely the GayFL aren't too busy with the Demons and Candy Crows, that they can't sort out THE most important footy issue of our lives

Only issue with a delayed Foxtel Cup draw is that it then delays all the state league draws which have to adjust for these matches.

It's only 9 games .... how long does it need to take?

Rang them up to find out the draw for family reasons and the girl who eventually answered the phone knew nothing about it and that it should have been released and put me thru to their media section who failed to answer the phone after 5 minutes so I hung up.

Very Poor AFL

If the Foxtel Cup starts late March
& the first two weeks are play in games with the 4 weakest teams.

what odds the AFL schedules either Norwood & West in the Foxtel Cup
around ANZAC Day to foil the traditional SANFL grand final rematch

just like they scheduled a West Coast Eagles game on WA Day head to head with the WAFL derbys.

The SANFL should schedule its fixtures regardless of Foxtel Cup partcipants. The Foxtel Cup games are going to be mid-week affairs next year, are they not?

I rang the AFL, they advised the Foxtel Cup draw was delayed, still 1-2 weeks away.

Assuming SANFL draw wont come out until they know when Norwood & West are not available I cant see the SANFL draw coming out for another 2-3 weeks ... Dec 10-17.

Happy to be proven wrong.

For someone who has been so negative about the foxtel cup, you seem to waste a lot of time and effort on it.

.... "so negative" ...

I hardly think so TSG, especially relative to others on this site

I don't think you are being overtly negative if you highlight solutions to problems.

I refer back to my original piece some 12 months ago.

http://www.safooty.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=34906&hilit=Foxtel+Cup+Fix

It's great to see some of these ideas become reality
- A much more respectful commentary team to the games being played.
- Teams reduced to just 2 per league
- Developing leagues having play in games before VFL, SANFL & WAFL clubs join in later
- Max commitment for SANFL clubs just 3 games (enables some rest during the year)

There are still 2 issues for mine

- The game day product .............. matches in front of nobody at 11am in the morning doesn't brand State
League football in a good light. Hopefully Tues Night works.

- Getting a schedule out .............. it would not be an issue except it holds up all the state leagues from
getting their fixture finalised.
2011's SANFL draw came out week before Christmas and 2012's much
criticised fixture looked rushed.

Draw is out http://mm.afl.com.au/Portals/0/2012/Foxtel%20Fixture.pdf

Norwood play East Fremantle at Footy Park (May 21).
Westies play Port Melbourne at the MCG (June 11).

Both Tuesday night games.

Cue more bitching about the FC
