Well, off to have a few more Bundys and try and pretend this day never happened. Sadly, reality will hit when I'm back in Adelaide next week and I've no team in a GF. Good luck to the remaining teams.

Did it cost Adelaide a premiership?

I'm in shock at the amount of wins we're having as underdog, so used to losing games when we're favs over the years but to win so many when we're not expected to win has been extraordinary.
Very "un-Northlike".

Obviously the call was too hard to make for the club

Very good points and ones I brought up yesterday to a degree. Some very deserving players in the Dogs ressies yesteray and some very underserving players in the league today.
O'Sullivan is an awesome player and he'd be one of the first few I'd pick every week with the opportunity.

Unfortunatly Chad hasnt been very awesome this year and has really struggled since the leg break in the 10'GF.

In saying that he couldnt have done much worse than others.

Did i read somewhere that 'the Gowans cost Centrals the game' I think North playing awesome football and the 19 other passengers we had probably had a fair bit more to do with it than the twins.

I wouldnt have dropped a Gowans for Chad. Chads pace and ability to wrong foot an opposition player has lessened, but he can kick goals. I thought Dutchske could have been dropped for him. As for dropping a Gowans, all Dynastys suffer from melancholy in the end, and maybe we have paid the price. At the moment I couldnt care less, they have more than proved themselves and doubtless made you foam up.

Personally i thought we could only carry 1 Gowans, i said this to Dutchy and others during the first win at the Bay this year. As i have said elsewhere though football is only a game and imho there has to be a little place for sentiment.

Either way there has been bigger problems down at the Ponderosa this year than both the Gowans being in the same side, example being only playing one ruckmen, continued soft tissue injuries with as far as im aware no fitness coach employed, rumours of off field disciplinary problems, and the obvious on field disciplinary issues.

I love Roy to death and this he is the right man to continue on as Central coach but if you were grading the coaches box performances this year i dont think to many Centrals supporters would give much higher than a 'C'. The obvious exception being the Hardy full forward move.

Maybe this will be the kick in the guts to the younger generation of Dogs players that spurs them on to achieve greater things.

It's hard to know exactly when an era ends at the time, usually it's only in hindsight that we can define the boundaries. Who knows, we might rise again next year but it feels like this might be it for a few years. I always felt that when it finally ended I wanted to feel like it had been taken from us by force and not us merely fading away. Sadly, 2 poor finals and it really feels like we meekly surrendered our mantle as the team others measure themselves by.

No doubt there'll be a new look in 2013 with no Gowans and some of the others I've heard are moving on give the impression it could be a decent cleanout. We have some areas we need to look at and that includes Roy. This was easily the worst prepared for a finals I've ever seen us. Every year we've hit the finals ready to go, positions settled, players fit and sharp and the coaching right on the money. But these two games we were flat, disjointed, confused and so off with our skills we were missing 25m passes.

North no doubt were good today. Definitely better than us, but Francou will have to take this game with a grain of salt because we didn't make North play better than mediocre to get this win. It's probably a bit of a shame for the neutrals and maybe even some North fans that they didn't get the opportunity to see how good they were because any side can look great against witches hats. Although I suspect most North fans couldn't care less what the opposition was like and fair enough.

I do like the balance North have in the midfield with Bennett really making a difference. They aren't a one man band in there now, it makes them faster and less predictable. Both those things make them harder to close down which will serve them well should they make the big dance. And Lewis Johnston is a very good forward. Some of the kids give the run and drive that Allan has tried to do all by himself for years and allows him to play to his strengths.

In retrospect Central this year remind me very much of Port in 1991. In 1991 all season I thought that Port, who had won the previous 3 premierships were going to be our biggest danger, but they were killed in the Elimination Final by West. Everyone thought it was the end of Port but instead they dominated 1992 and went on to win flags in 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998 and 1999. I am not saying that Central are about to go on another premiership winning spree, but I am going to be very wary of the bulldogs, because of their outstanding culture, in the next year or two.

Reading with amusement on here and the Bulldogs forum how many Central supporters are writing off their team??? Geez finished 4th after 12 years in row of GF's with 9 Premierships. We used to say you can't win it every year but Centrals almost did for 12 years!

The Dog's will be back big time - they have some good depth in the two's and will recruit well.

North's very small window will close at the end of this year IMO. With the loss of Alleway and Allan we could / will lose Mayes and Clisby to the draft, Bennett has not committed yet (weighing up a return to the ACT to finish his degree), throw in Ivens who could retire and the loss of AFL players such as Johnston and Stewart etc. North have a lot of big performers to replace in 2013 / 14. We need to make the most of it this year and use our momentum to carry us at least to the GF.

unfortunately, you're spot on.
It's now or never for the Roosters.
We MUST focus on and beat West this week.

First of all what a awesome dynasty we have been fortunate enough to enjoy. 12 consecutive Grand Finals resulting in 9 Premierships and the Gowans brothers there all the way. It has been an amazing journey that I think all CDFC fans can agree and reflect proudly on that.
I'm sure the club will bounce back and we'll be up there again before long.

To North Adelaide, you guys played an outstanding game, solid in all parts of the field and were deserved big winners. Lots of forward options with height and if you keep that sort of performance going I can see you beating West and giving Norwood a real battle in the GF. Great to see lots of your supporters out there too creating atmosphere. Best of luck to the Roosters for the remainder of the finals.

As for Michael Avon reporting James Gowans after the game for being abusive....James must have foolishly accused him of having a good game!!

Hopefully our reserves can win on Sunday and we can at least have some representation on Grand Final Day and get some doggies supporters there.

Well well well speaking of selection i think the doggy selection committee got it all wrong i have been saying for the last 3 weeks why was Josh Wilson omitted as back up ruck for Hannath and especially with this crucial game why was Pumpa Sutherland not selected as the second ruckman thus leaving Hardy to play as a permanent full forward why why why also why was Collier dropped ???? if you had to drop anyone maybe evil yves sibenaler or crazy hayes who really was not match fit.
