.... except they are insolvent and can;t get an auditor to sign of on last years audit amd may get shut down as a going concern ... but don't worry, all is under control ... Benson will put on his nice little sweater and metion that a few sponsors forgot to pay thei bill, but she'll be right.

I've never heard of an organisaton that is still to get it financial year approved 7.5 months into the next year, yet the members are not concerned at all ... you club is about to be wound up and you paid GFC 20K for some bloke that could not get a league game!

(The average football fan would struggle to afford a house there now if they didn't inherit it.)

A football team needs to be surrounded by people who will spend money at its venue.
Unley doesn't offer that, and just playing at Wayville or Adelaide Oval won't fix it.
They need a money making venue in a more beer and pokies orientated environment.
Mt Barker may work.

I suspect Norwood's venue wouldn't do as well if located at Norwood either, though Norwood as an area perhaps offers a broader social mix than Unley.

Glenelg bistro and pokies seem to do quite well considering the amount of pubs in the vicinity - Holdy, Broady, BMH, Watermark, Jetty, Highway, Morphett Arms, Warradale, Silks.
Also check out some of the property prices in Glenelg, Somerton park and also Glengowrie.
I don't know how you can define "the average footy fan" and what they can afford, but a very high percentage of people that live in the Glenelg area follow and support the Bays.
I would hate to see sturt go to mt. barker, I can only imagine how their supporters feel. (only slight sympathy ;) )

The main advantage the Bay has with respect to its bistro and pokies is that it gets an excellent passing trade. Irrespective of the demographics of the surrounding area, it is ideally situated to attract passing traffic and has the other advantage of excellent parking facilities.

I never get the impression though that clubs like to be questioned. I don't try to be difficult or annoying, but I do think that if you're on the board, then you should feel obligated to explain yourself and the decisions of the board in full.

Auditing firm PKF signed off on the accounts a few months ago so where are you getting this version from??????
As a petty South official the last thing you should be doing is throwing stones at opposition.

Not to downplay the seriousness of the situation because i think the situation is very concerning but accuracy always helps.

What intrigues me is that if the situation is so dire why has it been so quiet in the media?Do we know if creditors are being paid? You would think that if the club could not meet commitments it would be a bit more public.
so how do we find out exactly the situation

Moving there won't overcome inept management...

I'm not saying we shouldn't move there, but I am saying its not the panacea to all our woes.

It will go a long way to fixing things though. It would be very exciting as well.
